Arlenis Sosa For Lancome

The 19-year-old Dominican Republic model, Arlenis Sosa, is the new face for Lancôme.  Arlenis was discovered on her way to school by a designer, who sent her picture to the Marilyn Agency’s Peter Cedeño.  She first appeared in the Italian Vogue “A Black Issue”, along with other gorgeous supermodels such as Iman, Veronica Webb, Alek Wek and Chanel Iman.  The girl’s flying high, having been featured in the American Vogue’s July 2008 issue titled “Is Fashion Racist?” by Vicky Woods.  Recalling her shoot for Italian Vogue, Arlenis was nothing but completely starstruck.

“I was seeing my idols, like Iman, Alek Wek and Veronica Webb — the women who broke barriers and opened the door for me. They were all so friendly and treated me like their friend.”

As for the reason on selecting Arlenis, Odile Roujol, president of Lancôme said:

“Arlenis possesses beauty, intelligence, charm and compassion. All of our brand ambassadors share these attributes, so we knew she would be a wonderful addition. We are very proud to welcome her to the Lancôme family.”

Arlenis Sosa joins previous Lancôme stars: Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Clive Owen, Juliette Binoche, Daria Werbowy, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, Selena Breed and Inés Sastre.  That is quite a number of beautiful ladies.  Now you decide, does she have what it takes?
