Celebrity Clothing Line

Imitation of Christ by Tara Lyn Subkoff

Year launched: 1999

Imitation of Christ is clothing line often described as “painfully hip” and was founded by indie actress Tara Subkoff and conceptual genius Matthew Damhave. The line is named after a 15th century book by Thomas a Kempis with the same name.
Subkoff is an American actress and fashion designer from Westport, Connecticut. She has acted in over a dozen movies, most recently 2006’s The Notorious Bettie Page. Subkoff and Matthew Damhave were co-founders of the clothing line Imitation Of Christ, which remade old clothes into new works of fashion.
