Black Kat Kustoms was founded by Mike Ness, leader of the legendary Social Distortion, in 2003 to extend his creative passion and counter culture attitude to the world of clothes, cars and bikes.
Ness is a prolific guitarist, vocalist, and chief songwriter for the punk rock band Social Distortion. As of Dennis Danell’s death in 2000, he is the only remaining original member of the band. After a solo tour, Ness said in a July 2008 interview that Social Distortion will rework on their new album in 2009 and release it later that year. On Saturday May 17, 2008 Ness and his band were joined on stage by Bruce Springsteen at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey for the encore.
