It is official – Beyonce is expecting her first baby with rapper husband Jay-Z. Earlier tonight, she revealed the surprise by showing off her tiny baby bump when she hit the red carpet at the 2011 MTV VMAs at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. With a glowing smile on her face, she clutched her visible bump and told the gathered press, “I have a surprise!”

The 29-year-old performer wore a long orange Lanvin gown as she walked on the red carpet that outlined her baby bump quite nicely.  A picture of bliss and poise, Beyonce was obviously very happy to be expecting. Her maternity dress gave her a fabulous look, with its bright hue and interesting details. She teamed the stylish ensemble with white strappy heeled sandals, a glittered bracelet, a cocktail ring and a pair of chic dangling earrings. For her hair and makeup, she went for a light pink shimmering lipstick and allowed her wavy tresses to stream down her exposed shoulders.

During the MTV Video Music Awards program, the six-time Grammy Award winning pop star gave an electrifying performance as she sang “Love on Top,” a performance that drew a standing ovation from the audience. With huge smile on her face, she ripped open her jacket and proudly rubbed baby bump. Jay-Z was caught by the cameras smiling with collaborator Kanye West smacking the father-to-be on the back.

In a recent interview, the singer opened up on her plans to make family a priority. She told the September issue of In Style: “Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.”

Although we try to keep up on the latest in fashion – haute couture or not – and follow the tips and ideas set by celebrities, it is hard to be a fashionista on a budget.

The 29-year-old singer gladly modeled the remarkable and trendy new collection. In one photo, she donned smart French knickers and lace thigh-high socks. With her wacky hairstyle and high fashion makeup, she’s got the edgy look down pat. We concede that she’s the perfect model for fashion that’s fierce and fearless.

The House of Dereon clothing brand is set to be launched in the UK next month. That’s good news for her doting fans in the UK who will be delighted to know that the Grammy Award winning artist will be appearing at the Selfridges department store in London for the launch. This iteration of House of Dereon includes pieces that could come straight from Beyonce’s diverse wardrobe, but nothing beats the fact that pieces from the collection reasonably priced, with price tags starting from £80.

In other news, Beyonce is eager to focus on marriage and kids. She told In U.S. Style that after spending her twenties focused on her singing career, she’s ready to start a family. “Now, I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children,” she said.

Now that Beyonce’s hot on the promotional trail for her fourth and latest album, aptly titled, 4, we’re thrilled to have plenty of unique and quintessentially Beyonce ensembles to anticipate. After all, Beyonce never shies away from outrageous fashion and beauty looks, and we always love using her wild color palates and crazy silhouettes as creative inspiration in our own closets. We’ve actually missed her public appearances, as she took some time away from the spotlight to write and record 4, and are delighted she’s back in all her fierce and fashionable glory.

Fortunately for us, she didn’t waste any time hitting the public relations junket, and she debuted her first amazing ensemble at her outdoor concert for ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday, July 1st. The diva opted for a micro-mini crochet dress in a canary yellow hue that totally complimented her gorgeous skin. Beyonce’s fringed frock came courtesy of designer Julien MacDonald – and we think it was the perfect choice to kick off her promo tour. If you’ve been following Beyoncé’s venture in the fragrance business, you won’t be surprised if after Heat and Heat Rush, the singer will release a follow-up product.  Beyoncé’s newest fragrance, still in collaboration with fragrance giant, Coty, is called “Pulse”.

Beyoncé stated:

“Pulse is a fragrance you can wear all the time. I love the idea of a signature scent that lets a woman leave her mark wherever she goes, so I always try to make my scents appropriate for any occasion.”

The bottle cap is inspired by Beyoncé’s show costumes. Beyoncé commented:

“I love [that] because it incorporates fashion into the overall design.”

Pulse will be released to the market on September, but while waiting, you can get Beyoncé’s Heat and Heat Rush fragrance at Amazon.com.

The 2011 Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala took place Monday, May 2nd at New York City’s iconic Metropolitan Museum of Art – and the stars really delivered on the red carpet. For fashionistas, the MET Gala is Christmas morning and our birthday, all wrapped up into one glamorous, sparkly package – and this year was no exception. On Monday night, Hollywood’s heaviest hitters gathered in NYC to pay tribute to late designer Alexander McQueen at the annual gala, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

The British label’s creative director, Sarah Burton, is fresh off the success of Princess Kate’s knockout wedding gown – and she looked rightfully radiant at the posh event. But even though her famous brand was being highlighted, she wasn’t our pick for best dressed. That honor goes to none other than Beyonce, who caused audible gasps upon emerging from her car. The fierce fashion queen chose a one-of-a-kind Emilio Pucci creation, and even though the outrageous design is not for everyone, she earns the best-dressed title for being so bold. Keep reading for details about the intricate creation, and learn just how Beyonce suffered in the name of style!

Anyone can pull off a simple and chic little black dress. It takes a true style icon to successfully wear a black and gold Pucci creation, featuring a turtleneck, bust cutout, and giant tulle mermaid skirt. That’s exactly why Beyonce was the night’s style star. The Pucci design was made for a body like hers, and she wears it beautifully. The unique silhouette highlights the crooner’s famously tiny waist and feminine curves, and the black and gold color palate looks sophisticated and regal. Since the Met Gala is such a huge event, it requires seriously daring formal fashion, and we think Beyonce nailed it. On anyone else, this dress might have become a disaster, but the “Bootylicious” singer looks fabulous. We even love her low chignon and severe middle part, which complimented her gown perfectly, without competing with the design.

As amazing as she looked, we actually heard a rumor that her gown was so tight around her legs, that she couldn’t walk up the front stairs to enter the venue, and hubby Jay-Z had to carry her. Now that’s what we’d call suffering in the name of fashion!

On Sunday, April 24th, Christians around the globe celebrated their holiest day of the year, Easter Sunday. And while most of us were gorging ourselves on holiday ham and turkey, and way too many crème-filled chocolate eggs, Beyonce and hunky hubby Jay-Z were prancing around Paris in their Easter Sunday best. In typical Beyonce fashion, the cool crooner (and face of L’Oreal) wore a fierce frock with seriously bold Christian Louboutin peep toe platforms. Only a true fashion icon like Beyonce could pull off a Marc Jacobs color block, polka dot design like this one, but we think she looks stunning. We love Beyonce’s feminine curves, and adore the fact that she’s not afraid to show them off in daring looks. She’s one star who refuses to shrink down to an impossibly small size, and gives real women plenty of stylish inspiration. Her Marc Jacobs dress on Easter Sunday was no exception – and we have a feeling we’ll be seeing plenty of similar looks this spring. For starters, we’re dying over the classic, ladylike shape of her frock. Marc Jacobs knows exactly how to flatter a woman’s body – and his color block creation on Beyonce proves exactly why he’s the reigning king of the feminine shape. The cinched waist and formfitting silhouette are balanced perfectly by the modest elbow-length sleeves and mock turtleneck-style neckline. For a similar shape, try pairing your favorite pencil skirt with a lightweight turtleneck sweater before the weather gets too hot for the look.

The emerald green and burgundy color palate aren’t what we normally think of when it comes to Easter style, but Beyonce makes the hues work together. In fact, we love the refreshing pop of saturated color in a sea of white and spring pastel. To make the trend work for spring and summer, try pairing a rich, jewel-toned scarf or handbag with your frothy summer looks for a fun change. Don’t forget to complete your outfit with a great accessory, like Beyonce’s fierce Balmain handbag, for the perfect finishing touch.

We continue to be amazed at how the stars manage to constantly color their hair, yet simultaneously maintain shiny, thick and healthy-looking locks. Something tells us that Beyonce isn’t using a L’Oreal boxed color from the drugstore at home in her bathroom vanity. Because if she was, there’s no way her mane would look so manageable and fabulous. Even though this isn’t the star’s natural color, it looks so pretty and effortless thanks to her no-fuss style. During her LA shopping trip, she sported a shorter-than-usual shoulder length style with plenty of natural wave. If you color your hair frequently like Beyonce, it’s important to ease up on the heated instruments. Work your natural wavy texture, and your hair will thank you!
And as fantastic as her hair looked on this particular day, it was certainly no competition for her fierce turquoise Louboutins. It takes a diva with serious guts to brave a day of shopping (and walking!) in such high heels. And even though we caught a photo of Beyonce leaning on her Cadillac Escalade for balance, we still give her props for taking a fashion risk. The shoes work because she paired them with a simple long-sleeved black dress and used her gorgeous gams as her best accessory. Sure, this look is totally over-the-top, but we love it! First Fergie was spotted wearing leggings done in a wild blue pattern. This was when she was vacationing in St. Barts with her husband Josh Duhamel for the New Year’s holiday. Then, Beyonce was photographed just days ago wearing studded leggings in New York City. While both of these looks certainly break with the standard black legging style, both of them rely heavily on the importance of black. For example, although Fergie looked like she was hosting a pattern convention from the waist down, she wore all black on top and paired the ensemble with black shoes.

Beyonce may have been wearing studs on her famous gams, but the backdrop to those rocking details was a basic black legging. Like Fergie, Beyonce wore black shoes with her ensemble. But she added to her rocker look with a motorcycle jacket and an oversized white t-shirt. Based on these recent looks from fashionista celebs, it is likely that we will see more legging trends in seasons to come and that many stylish dames will be ditching their basic black styles for more colorful editions.

Since forty-nine out of our fifty states are currently buried in snow and ice (lucky Floridians!), it’s no wonder why we fashionistas are left longing for the sunny, hot days of summer. Simply put, we are tired of bundling up under parkas and scarves – even if they are the season’s “it” color or shape, and we are more than ready to break out our bright, summery beauty and fashion routines. Fortunately for us, our favorite glossy fashion magazines, like Glamour, ELLE and Vogue are on the same page with us (pun intended, there) – and have rolled out lots of warm weather inspiration in their February issues. We may be drowning in down and wool as we get ready for our Valentine’s Day dates and parties, but summer fashion and beauty ads provide a veritable light at the end of the tunnel!

Of the myriad sunny ads we’ve seen so far, we have to admit we’re loving Beyonce’s spread for her new fragrance, Heat Rush, best of all. Even though we haven’t taken a single whiff of the concoction yet, we’re already positive we’ll love it simply because of the summery tone of these photographs.

For years, Beyonce has practically written the style book for resort fashion, being snapped everywhere from Tahiti to St. Thomas with hunky hubby Jay-Z – and her Heat Rush photos only ad to her fashion accolades. Her perennially bronzed skin and sun-streaked, beachy hair simply scream summer – and we’re sure her fragrance will be just as bright.

Our favorite feature of the Heat Rush ads is Beyonce’s orange frock. We’ve seen every shade of orange – from rust to peach – walk down the runways for Spring and Summer 2011, and no one can make orange look quite as hot as Miss B. The halter straps and seaming details throughout the dress’s bodice are universally figure flattering. Chose a similar style, and there won’t be any need to hit the gym before hitting the sand this summer! So when you’re feeling frozen to the bone, steal some summer style from Beyonce and you’ll Heat up in no time!

Can Beyoncé be too hot for TV? Apparently she can. Check her newest ad for her perfume, “Heat”. People in the UK found the ad to be offensive especially because the ad is aired at daytime, during family programming.

The campaign featured Beyoncé in a skimpy red dress being all seductive, described by UK’s Advertising Standards Authority as “sexually provocative” and “unsuitable to be seen by young children”.

ASA received complaints from television viewers, who stated that their children had seen the ad in the middle of the day. Coty, the company that created “Heat” said that the TV ad was “intended to reflect the singer Beyoncé’s personal ‘sexy chic’ style” and that the ad was not “overtly graphic or explicitly sexual and at no point was Beyoncé naked”.

Coty also stated that the ad was stylized and in keeping with other ads in the genre.

But the ASA stays at its opinion and released a statement:

“Beyoncé’s body movements and the camera’s prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children. We considered that the ad should not have been shown before 7.30pm due to the sexually provocative nature of the imagery.”
