It’s been a cloudy weekend for the Missoni clan, as the plane that carried Vittorio Missoni, commercial and marketing director for Missoni fashion house, has been missing since Friday in Venezuela. The plane took off from Los Rogues to its destination Maiquetia, but disappeared from radar after 10 nautical miles. The plane never arrived at its destination.

Aboard the small twin-engine airplane were Missoni, his wife Maurizia Castiglioni and their couple friends plus two crew members. Vittorio Missoni along with his siblings, Luca and Angela, owns the fashion house which was founded by their parents Ottavio and Rosita Missoni.

Angela Missoni told La Repubblica, an Italian newspaper:

“Our hope is that he is still alive. We want to hope because for us it is important.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Missoni family.

Karrueche Tran’s Debut Line: The Kill

You might not remember her by her name (or, in fact, face), but if we told you she’s Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend, you’ll probably go “oh her.”  Well, Tran is currently busy with her new venture, and that is using her new-found fame to launch her own clothing line, The Kill.

Tran linked arms with Chris Brown’s stylists, Ugo Mozie and MiMi Gazelle, in doing the collection, and managed to shoot a video in Paris to promote the line when she was still with Chris Brown. If you wonder what happened to The Kill post-Brown and Tran breakup, we assure you that if anything, it only gives the brand free publication. Chris Brown has been posting photos of some of the line’s products on his Instagram account, and here’s one of the pictures.

If you’re undecided about what style to wear for New Year’s Eve—at least on your nails—try Nicole Polizzi a.k.a Snooki’s idea. The Jersey Shore star posted this photo of her brightly painted nails and nail polish set on her Instagram—and we take it as a style advice for NYE. Snooki said:

My NYE nails are ready to go with my ‘fireball’ Snooki nail polish!

This red sparkly nail color is dubbed Fireball. It is part of Snooki’s own three-color nail polish set aptly named All That Glitters. The set reflects the reality star’s fun and vivacious fashion taste. Interestingly, the bottle cap is done in zebra print Snooki-style! The other colors are labeled as I’m a Gold Mind and Party’s Here. Nice thing is—you can wear them with any outfit you want even if you don’t sport a fireball red ‘do!  All That Glitters by Snooki is available at HSN and Perfumania.

The Olsen Twins’ Prescription Pill-Studded Bag at $55,000!

Olsen Twins' pill-covered bag

d413c74167484e4c The Olsen Twins Prescription Pill Studded Bag at $55,000!

Just when you thought nothing could top $39000, the world’s most famous twins are back and are releasing a new line of bags with a crazier price tag. Just a few months ago, they released an alligator-skin backpack with a price nothing else could possibly top. And yet…

The Sky-High Price

Starting December 12, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen will be selling 9 limited-edition bags priced at $55000 each. These bags are part of the twins’ high-end (highest end, actually) fashion label, The Row, designed in collaboration with British artist Damien Hirst.

The Outlandish Design

While the price shocks you, the design makes you choke (like a pill would).

This ‘controversial” backpack is the “centerpiece design” of the limited-edition collection. It is made from black Nile crocodile skin and adorned with multicolored prescription pills (as if they were sequins or precious stones).

According to a rep, a portion of the sales from the bags will be donated to UNICEF. The exact amount has not been disclosed.

Just One Eye, the online retailer which will carry the backpack, describes it as “wearable art work.” One-of-a-kind design and eye-popping price is how we describe it.

Shaquille O’Neal as a Zales Jewelry Salesman?

Shaquille O’Neal, posing as a sales associate, delighted shoppers at Zales on Fifth Avenue in New York. This was part of the promotion for his men’s jewelry line in collaboration with the upscale store.

Dressed for the job complete with name tag, Shaq was wearing one of his favorite pieces from the collection, a necklace with a big cross for a pendant.

Shaq’s jewelry line features 36 individual pieces all below $500, which makes it quite affordable. The former NBA star collaborated with a husband-and-wife design team in creating his collection, making suggestions and adding small details but leaving much of the work to the designers.

The event didn’t only attract shoppers, but curious onlookers as well. It’s safe to say a lot of people were Shaqed, if not shocked, when they saw the massive salesman behind the counter. Fans of the court-hopping former MVP came in a queue, and we bet the diamonds on display were just in their peripheral vision.

Zales CEO Theo Killion has commented on the success of the jewelry line, which was launched in October. It’s not surprising for the sales to spike after a publicity stunt like this. It’s a marketing strategy. Clever marketing that is.

Shaq + Bling = Sales.
