Leighton Meester Launching Lovestruck fragrance

After Taylor Momsen was tapped to be the face of John Galliano last winter, and Blake Lively fronted Chanel’s most recent handbag and accessory campaign, we figured it was only a matter of time before gorgeous Leighton Meester completed the Gossip Girl trifecta and signed a major endorsement deal. We should have put money on that bet, because we spotted the beautiful and talented brunette posing for paparazzi at the official launch of Vera Wang’s Lovestruck fragrance – for which she’s the spokeswoman – at Harrod’s department store in London on Thursday, June 9. We think Leighton was a perfect pick for the fragrance, since Vera Wang’s pretty perfumes come in sparkly, heart-shaped bottles and certainly appeal to the Gossip Girl audience.

We admit that we’ve fallen prey to pretty packaging, and own a few Wang fragrances ourselves – so we can’t wait to check out this new installment in the collection. But until then, we’ll have to be satisfied with drooling over Leighton’s adorable frilly-meets-edgy ensemble at the launch.

For the event, the Gossip Girl star arrived in a pitch-perfect top and pants, all appropriately by Vera Wang. Her uber feminine and airy rose-colored pleated sleeveless blouse was straight off the Fall 2011 runway, and she paired it with a pair of seriously bold black leather pants from the Pre-Fall 2011 line. She completed her look with rosy hued suede platform sandals by Brian Atwood, and an amazing knotted leather cuff bracelet by Dannijo.

Pulling off two completely different pieces like Leighton can be tricky, but any woman can wear this look with a few simple style tips. To create a similar style within your own closet, choose pieces that each make their own statement – like Leighton’s leather pants and feminine top – but don’t compete too drastically, like a bikini and Ugg boots. Bring the look together with easy breezy hair and makeup, like Ms. Meester’s undone waves and pink pout, for a Gossip Girl-inspired look for less!
