Khloe Kardashian Launches “Unbreakable” in Major Star Style

Love them or loathe them, the Kardashian Train isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. In fact, the sisters have only revved up their careers lately, with the announcement of younger sister Khloe and NBA star hubby Lamar Odom starring in their own reality show for the E! Network, aptly titled, “Khloe and Lamar.” And even though Khloe’s name is in the title, rest assured that the entire Kardashian clan will manage to get plenty of camera time during the series – even mom Kris and brother Rob.

Admittedly, sometimes we feel like we’ve had enough of this wacky family – and wish they would sink back into relative obscurity. But then one of the sisters wears something so fabulous, that we find our obsession renewed. And that’s exactly what happened at the April 4th launch party for Khloe and Lamar’s signature fragrance at The Redbury in Los Angeles.

Called “Unbreakable,” the unisex blend seems like the perfect business venture for Khloe and Lamar, who’ve beat the celebrity odds and successfully survived one year of wedded bliss in front of the cameras. This, after only having dated for one month (and being engaged for a mere nine days) is a marriage miracle in Hollywood. And at the fragrance party, we’re considering Khloe’s trim and tailored Gucci tuxedo-style suit nothing short of a figure-fixing miracle! Look for similarly tailored pieces to minimize a multitude of figure flaws!

We’re dying over Khloe’s chic all-black ensemble, and think the Spring 2011 Gucci creation might be equally flattering on all different body types. She kept the menswear-inspired look totally flirty by displaying plenty of decolletage and sexy cleavage, and accessorized just right with a girly, bright yellow Balenciaga evening bag. Khloe’s two-toned Christian Louboutin David Delfin suede and leather pumps are a work of art alone, but also act as the perfect finishing touch on the reality star’s ensemble. What do you think of this super chic look?

Avril Lavigne: A Song, A Fragrance, A Whole Look

Avril Lavigne is more than just a rocker with green hair (and sometimes pink, and sometimes any other color of the rainbow). She’s also a businesswoman who’s carving out her own little corner of the fashion industry. It was three years ago that the recording artist launched her very own clothing line and gave it the name Abbey Dawn, but Avril didn’t stop there. It’s clear that she didn’t just lend her image as a branding tool and then sequester herself in the recording studio. In a recent interview about Abbey Dawn, Avril said “I’m very hands-on.” She went on to compare herself to other people in the industry who aren’t as involved with the products that are linked to their images. “Some people probably aren’t but I am. I own it and it’s my idea, my vision.”

Not only has Avril added fragrances to Abbey Dawn, but she has even linked the products in her line directly to her music. Her recently released album, which is titled Goodbye Lullaby, includes an intro section that is titled “Black Star.” In addition to Forbidden Rose, Black Star is one of the fragrances within the Abbey Dawn line of products. In her recent interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Avril explained “The intro to my album is called ‘Black Star’, and the message behind the fragrance is to reach for the stars.”

While the line of clothing was originally formed to be a junior’s collection for Kohl’s, Avril’s products have gone global. In the same interview referenced above, the singer was proud to report that her line is now available in over 50 countries around the world. We will be interested to see how Avril connects her future musical releases back to her line of clothing, accessories, and fragrances.

Jennifer Aniston Isn’t Wearing Black!

Fresh off of her “Just Go With It” promotional tour across the globe, where she wore nothing but black for every single appearance, Jennifer Aniston absolutely floored us in Mexico on March 10th. She was there for the official launch of her new fragrance, “Jennifer Aniston,” and looked completely refreshed and renewed in breezy, flesh-colored Valentino Couture Spring 2011 frock. We’re so accustomed to seeing our favorite “Friend” in her signature black, that we barely recognized her when she hit the event – held at the St. Regis Hotel in Mexico – sporting a new color and a new hairstyle. Normally, we give Jen a free pass for always wearing black, because she usually finds a creative way to spice up her look, with a bold new makeup trick, an unexpected ruffle or pop or sparkle. But now that we know how fantastic she looks in color, we’ll be expecting more from her! Take a look at Jen’s sexy ensemble below, and tell us which style secrets you’ll be stealing for spring!

Let’s start with her hair and makeup. First of all, we are dying over Jen’s shorter, blonder ‘do. We think it’s a totally fresh look for spring and summer – and love that the star isn’t afraid to take the proverbial plunge and change her signature hairstyle. Sometimes, loosing a few inches of locks can really lift your entire outlook – and we’re considering a similar cut as we head into the warmer months. Jen’s makeup also screams summer – and was totally appropriate for the Mexican appearance. It looks like she’s wearing a shimmery bronzer on the apples of her cheeks in place of her usual pink blush, which gives the appearance of a sun kissed glow without all that pesky ultraviolet damage.

Jen’s Valentino Couture frock is dead on-trend for the upcoming season, with its nude hue and one-shoulder silhouette. The sparkly embellishments throughout the skirt lend a definite resort feel to the Spring 2011 creation, and we’re keeping our eyes peeled for a more budget-friendly version for ourselves. Fortunately, nude tones are a huge trend, and will be easy to find at any price point. Jen completed her look to perfection with a pair of simple, strappy Tabitha Simmons sandals and minimal jewelry. Do you love this ensemble as much as we do? Sound off below!

Six Celebrity Fragrances We Wish Existed

One walk down Macy’s fragrance aisle, and you might think that a perfume deal is required to live in Hollywood. Everyone from singers, to actresses to celebutantes are slapping their names on sparkly bottles encasing sweet scents – and much to their manufacturers’ delights, celebrity-branded fragrances are flying off the shelves.

But even in today’s era of veritable perfume-mania, there are still several mysterious A-listers who haven’t entered the sweet-smelling ring. In fact, we’re actually curious why these six names below haven’t inked deals yet – and would be the first in line at Macy’s, if they did.

Oprah

Can you imagine if the Queen of Daytime launched a fragrance line? We’re all aware of the “Oprah Effect” on products and services – and everything this media tycoon attaches herself to becomes instant gold. In addition to the certain frenzy an O fragrance might cause, we also think her scent would be a comforting and pretty one. Given Oprah’s love of all things luxurious, we imagine her fragrance to have a distinct gourmand note like cinnamon, vanilla or chocolate, laced with luxe notes like amber and sandalwood.

George Clooney

Basically a real-life James Bond, this international man of mystery makes men jealous and ladies swoon. We think Clooney’s old-Hollywood vibe and bachelor lifestyle would make a distinctly sexy male scent. We think super masculine notes like pepper and firewood would comprise a Clooney fragrance.

Michelle Obama

Mrs. President has spent the duration of her husband’s presidency making major strides in the fight against childhood obesity and improving the lives of military families. And each step of the way, she wows us in her all-American, every-woman style. We imagine her scent might mix clean, soapy notes with outdoor scents like freshly cut grass.

Matthew Perry

Since the “Friends” finale, super fans of the show have only been able to get their Perry fix through syndication. But this month, the man formerly known as endearingly goofy Chandler Bing made his small screen comeback in ABC’s “Mr. Sunshine.” We think a Matthew Perry fragrance might sell well in the midst of his reemergence. Not to mention, former “Friend” Jennifer Aniston also recently launched her namesake fragrance – which provides a ready-made tie-in for department stores.

Anne Hathaway
anne hathaway 230x300 Six Celebrity Fragrances We Wish Existed
Annie’s classic style and timeless beauty, combined with her unwavering success in Hollywood creates the perfect storm for a fragrance. She’s already the face of Lancome’s woodsy “Magnifique,” but we think her “girl-next-door” charm would translate beautifully to her own namesake fragrance collection. We imagine a light and pretty floral fragrance featuring freesias and lilies. And with Anne’s upcoming gig as co-host of the 2011 Academy Awards, we can’t think of a better time for a fragrance launch!

Justin Bieber
Justin+Bieber+5 214x300 Six Celebrity Fragrances We Wish Existed
This one is a stretch – but with record success of his namesake nail lacquer collaboration with industry giant OPI, we know a Bieber fragrance would create a sales frenzy. Of course, a “Bieber Fever” scent would appeal to young girls – and prominently feature sugary notes like cotton candy and fruit punch. Coming off of a critically-acclaimed Grammy Awards performance, and in the midst of developing his own retail store at The Grove in Los Angeles, Justin might just hit fragrance gold if he were to release a namesake scent today.

There are so many other A-listers we’d love to see develop a fragrance. And as much as industry insiders scoff at Hollywood’s heavy hitters for diving into the fragrance pool, celebrity-branded perfumes continue to be some of the market’s biggest sellers. We can’t wait to see what else the celebrity set has in the perfumed pipeline. Is there anyone in particular you’d love to see put his or her name on a perfume bottle?

Gaga Goes Girly with New Fragrance

You read that right. Everyone’s favorite outrageous fashion risk-taker and wearer of raw beef, Lady Gaga, recently announced her collaboration with bath and body product and fragrance giant, Coty. The deal, which was reportedly inked in the fall, will include a series of Gaga-approved fragrances, but the first version isn’t hitting shelves until Spring 2012. Coty is a powerhouse in the perfume business, and has been the driving force behind such wildly popular fragrance brands like Calvin Klein, Adidas, Vera Wang and Sarah Jessica Parker. With a high profile client list under its belt, we were initially shocked Lady Gaga chose such a mainstream perfumer with a reputation for creating sophisticated, feminine and sweet scents. In fact, we were downright shocked that she didn’t go to her local butcher to hammer out a fragrance deal!

But just as we were worried Ms. G was about to go all mainstream and girly on us, news broke that she actually wants her first perfume to have notes that mimic human blood. So it’s official – the Lady’s perfume won’t smell anything remotely like Vera Wang’s or SJP’s – which, by the way, were all knockout successes in the industry. We have a feeling that the Gaga scent might even be a little scary – maybe perfect for Halloween!

Vera Wang’s “Sheer Veil” features dainty floral notes that are perfect for a blushing bride on her wedding day, while SJP’s “Lovely” smells exactly as its name suggests. Male fragrances from Coty like Adidas “Sport” and Calvin Klein’s “CK One” have cemented their rightful place in the classic fragrance hall of fame, with their strapping yet sexy notes.

Lady Gaga has also mentioned she’s interested in creating unisex fragrances, and with inspiration like human semen and blood, we think there’s a chance that it may be unisexually unappealing. But we’ll refrain judgment until her first scent hits shelves. Who knows? Bodily-fluid aromas might just blend well with top notes of lavender and vanilla, two of Coty’s signatures. Will you be checking out these perfumes when they become available?
