Jennifer Aniston Debuts Signature Scent In The US

Jennifer Aniston perfume Jennifer Aniston Debuts Signature Scent In The US

Time for a celebrity-fragrance line deja vu. Remember when Jennifer Aniston first launched her fragrance in the UK sometime in July last year? Well, the beautiful scent of the fragrance which was called Lolavie but now simply “Jennifer Aniston”, has now reached the US and landed in Sephora.

Are you as suspicious as we are about the name change?

Anyway, Jennifer revealed that she has been an avid fan of fragrances and has been doing her own mix in the past:

“I’ve always loved to combine different scents to come up with my own unique thing. One tradition I have with my friends is that when one of us gets married, we have a ton of fragrance oils and pretty bottles at the bachelorette party. Everyone puts a drop or two in a bottle for the bride and makes a wish, and the bride wears our creation on her wedding day.”

About her fragrance, she stated that she wants it to be a personal library of scent memories.

“I wanted this fragrance to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of night blooming jasmine has lasted a lifetime. Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of jasmine on summer evenings. I consider the scent of the ocean to be one of life’s most uplifting sensual experiences. No aroma is quite so purifying, humbling and exhilarating. The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach-pure happiness.”

The Jennifer Aniston fragrance has top notes of citrus grove and rose water, a heart of blooming jasmine, wild violets and amazon lily, and a drydown of sensual musk, golden amber and sandalwood.

In the UK, the fragrance was launched and sold in Harronds, Boots and The Perfume Shop. Here in the US, it will be sold exclusively at Sephora for 3 months before rolling out to additional prestige distribution. There will be 3 sizes available in the US: 1 oz. for $39, 1.7 oz. for $55 and 2.9 oz. for $70.

Beyoncé’s “Heat” TV Ad Faces Hard Critique In the UK

Beyonce Heat Beyoncés Heat TV Ad Faces Hard Critique In the UK

Can Beyoncé be too hot for TV? Apparently she can. Check her newest ad for her perfume, “Heat”. People in the UK found the ad to be offensive especially because the ad is aired at daytime, during family programming.

The campaign featured Beyoncé in a skimpy red dress being all seductive, described by UK’s Advertising Standards Authority as “sexually provocative” and “unsuitable to be seen by young children”.

ASA received complaints from television viewers, who stated that their children had seen the ad in the middle of the day. Coty, the company that created “Heat” said that the TV ad was “intended to reflect the singer Beyoncé’s personal ‘sexy chic’ style” and that the ad was not “overtly graphic or explicitly sexual and at no point was Beyoncé naked”.

Coty also stated that the ad was stylized and in keeping with other ads in the genre.

But the ASA stays at its opinion and released a statement:

“Beyoncé’s body movements and the camera’s prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children. We considered that the ad should not have been shown before 7.30pm due to the sexually provocative nature of the imagery.”

Want to Smell Like the Biebs? Well Justin is Releasing His Scent in Resin.

justinbieber Want to Smell Like the Biebs? Well Justin is Releasing His Scent in Resin.

A few weeks ago I posted about Nicole by OPI releasing a collection of nail polishes centered around Justin Bieber’s My World album. While it has been revealed that the Biebs will have nothing to do with the creation of this line, it has been announced that he has been collaborating with Etoile Nation Beauty for another beauty product – perfume. The tween pop sensation has teamed up with Etoile to release his on line of unisex scents and they will be packaged in a very unusual manner.

Opting out of using the tradition glass or plastic bottles, Bieber has gone with housing his scents in wristbands and dog tags. Yup, that’s right. The trinkets are made from resin technology that will deliver the scent and are said to last up to a year. I am very interested to see and smell the fragrances; the packaging is definitely unique to say the least.
