Alicia Keys and Jewelry Designer Gisèle Theriault

Okay CelebrityClothingLine readers, we know you’re yearning for a new celebrity line and guess what, give a huge applause for Grammy Award-winning singer, Alicia Keys, who finally decided to launch her own jewelry line titled “The Barber’s Daughters”. Although the line will only be available to the public, Fall 2010, the collection was launched at a temporary shop at Collette Blanchard Gallery at 26 Clinton Street in Lower Manhattan.

Alicia Keys partnered up with jewelry designer Gisèle Theriault. Theriault sold her jewelry to Keys’ bandmates and when Keys saw what was being sold, she knew she wanted in.

“I fell in love with the individuality of the pieces, but more than that, the words that were written on them really resonated with the songwriter in me. I knew at that moment, for the first time, that through a whole other medium I would be able to spread inspiration and that’s what got me started.”

WWD reports that the collection is comprised of sterling silver and gemstone pieces, each inscribed with poetry and prayers of Masaru Emoto, the author of “The Hidden Messages in Water”.  You’ll LOVE the poetic touch and we’re not just playing with words here.

Jewelry design has always been something Keys wants to be involved in. She recently started AK Worldwide, a company that will handle her nonmusical endeavors. She stated:

“Jewelry is a great first step. I think accessories are exceptional, because it is a simple way for people to express their own style.”

Expressing your own style via The Barber’s Daughters will cost you between $85 up to $2,500. We think that’s kinda wide for a price range, but when you see what they’re like, maybe you’ll agree with us that the line deserves a chance. We were going to write ‘Brangelina’ on the title of this post but we know it’s so 2008 to use the mash-up.  But here’s a cooler fact about the couple.  Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finally breaks into the high-fashion world by partnering up with jeweler, Asprey, to launch a capsule collection of gold jewelry and silver accessories called ‘The Protector’, inspired by Angelina’s favorite animal: the snake.

The collection starts at $525 for a baby spoon made of silver with a snake-shaped handle. Being the philanthropist they’re famous for, all net proceeds from sales of this product will go to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, which raises awareness and funds to educate child victims of war, conflict and natural disasters.  Angelina Jolie stated:

“These are the children who most need a safe place to learn, a place to heal, a place to learn reconciliation, a place to build a better future and a place — to just be children. Yet the education for these children is often forgotten. Tens of millions of children and adolescents in conflict are not in school.”

Okay, it’s all about doing good, yada yada.  But back to the shape of the jewelry again, snakes are usually scary for women, but when worn with the right attitude, snake-shaped jewelry could be the most elegant thing ever to complete a woman’s look.  Besides, when Angelina was pregnant with their daughter Shiloh, she wore a snake-shaped ring as a symbol of protector for the Jolie-Pitt family.

The Protector collection consists of silver baby gifts such as the previously mentioned spoon, an eggcup, tooth box and picture frame.  Aside from these, there are also pendants, rings and earrings, decorated with micropavé diamonds.  Enough talking, just see for yourself and prepared to fall in love with the Asprey x Jolie-Pitt collaboration.

After 8 seasons of helping the labor of some great stars, Paula Abdul finally bowed out of American Idol. She announced her resignation via Twitter earlier this month.

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to ‘Idol. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day one become an international phenomenon.”

Speculations of her resignation have been flying around the entertainment world since the last season of Idol, where new judge, Kara DioGuardi was added to the cast, joining Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell. Paula have been an American Idol judge since the show’s premiere in 2002.

FOX, the Idol broadcaster had nice things to say about Paula’s departure:

“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the ‘American Idol’ family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show.”

Word is Paula sought $12 million, a significant jump from her previous $4 contract price.

We informed to you last year that actress Mischa Barton launched a headband line.  Not so long afterwards, she went into the handbag industry, so naturally we thought the headband business went bust.  But nooo… Ms. Barton is apparently up with a Spring/Summer 2009 collection of limited edition headbands.

Can’t say we hate them and can’t say we love ‘em either.  They’re cute with all those prices, but $50 as the cheapest price for one headband is kinda too much, especially the ones with such rough finishing.  To us they kinda look like they’re lined with band aids. We love Serena Williams, and that’s because she’s a champion both in tennis courts and in her off-court ventures.  First it was her first clothing line called Aneres, and then the deal with Mission Skincare.  Looks like she’s busy even when it’s off-season for tennis matches.  Remember when we said Serena sits at #9 on our Top 10 Richest Celebrity Designers?  We mentioned that maybe she’ll want to create something new.  Well she did. Serena Williams unveiled her designs for the Home Shopping Network and we can see that the girl loves good bags and shiny jewelries. The line is called “Signature Statement” and here they are.

That’s one cute bag.  We do hope there will be MORE bags!

No, we’re not gonna speculate about what’s going on in Joe Jonas and Camilla Belle’s relationship, but have we told you before that we always love it whenever we hear celebrities are doing good?

Well, today is one of those days.  Actress Camilla Belle teamed up with jewelry designer, Lori Leavitt, in designing beautiful jewelries to help children in Malawi, Africa, through a non-profit organization called H.E.L.P., where Camilla is a spokesperson.  Malawi is the seventh poorest country in the world and as stated in their website, H.E.L.P.’s mission is to positively impact lives of orphaned children and young adults living with famine, drought, extreme poverty, illiteracy and diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, all of which can be treated with proper health care and education, if available.  The mission is to give hope, education, love and protection to these children and young adults, beginning with building a school and medical clinic.

And that, dear readers, is how Joe and Camilla got matching jewelries.
