South African actress and Prometheus star Charlize Theron walked the red carpet at the CinemaCon 2012 Awards Ceremony at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where she was honored for her work.

Charlize bared a little skin in this daring black dress by Dion Lee LBD. The dress gave the illusion of a halterneck dress with straps hanging off her arms. The actress accessorized with perfect, black, open-toed shoes with thin ankle straps by Giuseppe Zanotti and diamond earrings. She looked beautiful with her slightly wavy hair and just the right amount of make-up.

Charlize was honored with the Distinguished Decade in Film Award during the ceremony. CinemaCon is the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners. The convention is targeted at film industry professionals for the purpose of promoting upcoming movies.

But she couldn’t resist a cheeky jibe at Fassbender’s famous full frontal scene in his recent movie Shame. She told the actor in her acceptance speech: “I have to say that I was truly impressed that you chose to play it big. Most other actors would have gone small, trust me. No, I know because I’ve worked with them.” On a more serious note, she stated: “Marriage equality is about more than just marriage. It’s about something greater. It’s about acceptance … I will always be your cheerleader and I will always be your friend.”
