Christina Aguilera’s Seriously Fierce Finale Frock

Christina Aguilera at the Voice Finale with Protege Beverly McClellan

If you tuned in to NBC this summer to catch the network’s smash hit reality singing competition, The Voice, then you know that Christina Aguilera is smack in the middle of a major comeback. The blonde pop star and entertainer serves as a singing coach and team leader, alongside music industry heavy hitters Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green on the new talent show, which has garnered record summer ratings for NBC. We’re thrilled the show’s doing well, and we’re proud to see Christina prove her harshest critics wrong following a string of box office flubs (Burlesque, anyone?) and public flops (who could forget Christina’s epic fall at the 2011 Grammy Awards?).

We spotted the Beautiful singer at her hit show’s finale party, which took place at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California on Wednesday, June 29, and we’ve never seen her look more confident. She arrived at the event in a seriously fierce strapless dress by Herve Leger, and finished her look with amazing studded Christian Louboutin peep toe platforms. Of course, no X-tina look would be complete without the diva’s signature deep red lip color and plenty of blinding bling, and we think she looked stylish, proud, and quintessentially Christina. Keep reading for more details about her lust-worthy dress, and learn how to recreate your own Aguilera-inspired makeup look at home.

Christina Aguilera’s Seriously Fierce Finale FrockEven though her finalist and protégé, Beverly McClellan, didn’t take home top prize at the live finale show, Christina didn’t let that stop her from beaming with pride for her newly discovered music sensation. She performed alongside her student on stage, and looked radiant, with a wrist full of diamond-encrusted bangles and a statement cocktail ring on each hand.

And although we can’t help you finance any Christina-approved jewels, we do have a few secrets for creating a similar makeup look. Start with well-moisturized lips, and layer wine-colored lipstick on top of a matching lip pencil. For Christina’s satin finish, top your pout with an emollient balm, rather than a high-shine gloss, and complete your face with a strip of false lashes for star-inspired style.

Christina Aguilera in Classic Red Dolce & Gabbana

As much as we adore Christina Aguilera for her contribution to the music industry over the past decade, we have to admit that it’s been a very tough past few months for the singing star. After a flubbed National Anthem at the Super Bowl, a misstep and subsequent tumble at the Grammy Awards, and an arrest for public intoxication in February – we’re actually proud of the star for keeping her chin up and concentrating on new projects. It seems like the Christina we know and love can’t catch a break, because she’s also in the midst of divorcing her husband of five years, Jordan Bratman, trying to sell their $13 million home in California in the middle of a housing crash, and trying to maintain some sense of normalcy for three-year-old son Max. We give her credit for trying.

But now that she’s buried her head deep into a new and exciting project, things seem to be turning around for Christina. In fact, she arrived at a press conference event for her new talent show, “The Voice,” on Tuesday, March 15th, looking fashionable and fabulous. The notoriously over-tanned, over-made-up star even had impeccable hair and makeup. Keep reading to check out her great little red dress and fierce accessories.

Christina arrived at the event – which was held at L.A. Center Studios in Los Angeles – in a belted red Dolce & Gabbana frock and spiked Christian Louboutin peep toes. We’re so used to seeing the Burlesque star overexposed, that it was a refreshing change to see her in a flattering, fitted strapless dress that didn’t reveal too much cleavage. And even though her hemline hit above the knee, the starlet balanced out her look with casual, loose waves.

We think she looked fantastic at her press conference – and will definitely be tuning in to NBC when “The Voice” premieres this summer. What do you think of this red-hot look?

Christina Aguilera in Hot Pink Alberta Ferretti

As much as we love Christina Aguilera’s catchy hit singles, her strong, independent woman vibe and her uncanny ability to continue to reinvent herself – we can’t say as much about her fashion choices. Miss Aguilera is often snapped wearing garish, unflattering cuts and colors, landing her on worst dressed lists time and again. In fact, we’d actually like to permanently erase her “Dirrty” days from our memories.

Unfortunately for us, those images of Xtina’s unwashed hair, smudged face and shreds of fabric disguised as clothing are here to stay. The only thing we can do now is move forward to more stylish (and clean!) times, and the “Burlesque” star is doing her part to right her past fashionable wrongs. She appeared on the red carpet at the December 16 premiere of her film at CineStar at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany in a flowing and flattering hot pink chiffon Alberta Ferretti halter gown. Needless to say, we’re in love with this look! Take a look at the event photos, and tells us what you thought of the candy-colored frock.

For starters, this dress is a refreshing change from Christina’s ever-present skin-tight looks. The floaty chiffon skims effortlessly over her knockout post-baby body without clinging to every bump and curve for dear life. The dress’s giant knot detail at the bust draws attention to the gorgeous color rather than showing too much skin, and the bright fuchsia hue not only pops on the red carpet, but is totally flattering to Christina’s porcelain skin.

Now, while we’re giving Christina major style points for her Alberta Ferretti, we’re not totally sold on the hair look she chose to pair with her fashionable and fabulous gown. The Rapunzel-esque braid-as-headband look is cute, but so wrong for a red carpet. If she chose a chic and sleek chignon or even a neat low ponytail, she would have hit this look out of the park. For those of you drooling over this look, remember that a bright pop of flattering color like fuchsia or purple can make your beautiful skin tone shine.

Are Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman Seperated?

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman Are Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman Seperated?

On the heels of the Courtney Cox/David Arquette split announcement, another couple is (supposedly) separated, but not quite headed to divorce-ville as of yet. Christina Aguilera and her music marketing executive husband, Jordan Bratman, are said to be no longer living together. Sources close to the couple told People.com and UsMagazine.com that while they aren’t divorced, they are no longer living together. They are trying to sort things out and their two-year old son, Max, is “their main concern”.

The couple has been together for five years and haven’t seemed to have any problems, publicly. Reps for both Christina and Jordan had no information to add on the subject.

LACMA’s Star-Studded Gala; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Saturday night the Los Angeles County Museum of Art held a star-studded gala entitled “The Unmasking” and it served as the opening of the a new exhibition named after the owners of Fiji Water and Pom Wonderful, Lynda and Stewart Resnick. Many celebrities were in attendance, including the three young ladies I have chosen to do this post on.

The Good:

Kim Kardashian has yet to fail me as of yet with her fashion choices. Ms. Kardashian donned a red, one shoulder Georges Hobeika gown. Complete with elegant hair and make up that accentuated her eyes, but wasn’t over the top, Kim looked stunning and outshone most on the red carpet.

The Bad:

Now I was very conflicted with this category because I wasn’t sure which of the two ladies to put here, but I opted with Nicole Richie…and her hair and make up were the only things keeping her from “The Ugly” spot. A close up of her face left me very pleased; her hairstyle was up, slightly messy but simple in contrast with the busyness of her dress. Also, her choice to pick one feature on her face to play with (her eye make up is amazing!) and keep the rest simple, really upgraded her overall appearance. Nicole Richie is usually spot on when it comes to dressing up or down, but I think (at least on her anyways) this fall 2009 Marchesa gown is a bit MUCH. Perhaps it’s just the giant black ribbon that is awkwardly knotted at her shoulder and waist, but whatever it is there is one thing it is not; working for her!

The Ugly:

Christina, Christina, Christina. This look isn’t essentially bad, but upon further inspection, i.e. seeing a close up on her face, this get up was pushed into “The Ugly” category. The pop diva looks very voluptuous in the pink-toned Atelier Versace gown (which we are all for because she usually looks VERY skinny) but her signature platinum locks styled very wild and curly paired with her overly bronzed face make up and almost invisible eyebrows just were not doing anything for me…except make me frown. She just looks tired and over it.
