There are so many reasons why we just cannot wait until springtime. Obviously, the warm weather, budding flowers and blue skies aren’t too shabby – but with so many of our favorite stars debuting Spring 2011 colors, shapes and trends, we’re mostly excited to go shopping! We’ve already seen that bright pops of color will be huge. At the Golden Globes, pink and green were everywhere – and orange has been on every fashionista’s lips for weeks. But at the InStyle And Warner Bros. 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards after party, “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere wowed us in a totally new color that’s sure to be a huge hit this coming season: blue-tinged, charcoal gray.

The celebrity-packed bash, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Tinsel Town, is always one of the most widely attended post-Globes soire. And on January 16, the yearly celebration certainly did not disappoint. Plenty of starlets and their handsome dates changed into different, looser and more laid-back looks for the late-night event, giving us all a double dose of fashion for the night. Disney princess Selena Gomez even admitted to getting changed in her car, so she didn’t have to run all the way home. But our personal favorite of the night was Ms. Panettiere in her stunning (albeit a tad sheer!) Amanda Wakeley blue-gray gown.

The darker shade of gray is stunning on Hayden’s California Girl-style and tan skin tone – and the gown’s cut and shape, complete with a wide rouching detail at the waist – are endlessly flattering to the starlet’s knockout body. The gown’s long sleeves are dead on-trend for awards show season, and the sheerness of the chiffon was L.A. weather appropriate.

We think this unique take on gray will be a huge trend in both apparel and accessories – and will really pop against all your springtime bright colors. If you’re interested in trying a similar shade for the warmer months, go for it! This is one neutral that’s surprisingly universally flattering. Just make sure to layer underneath a sheer bodice – something poor Hayden forgot about on Globes night!

The “Heroes” star who’s best known for her role as the world-saving cheerleader is getting more and more productive these days, as she teams up with Dooney & Bourke’s designer, Peter Dooney, in designing the IT bag for Spring 09. Take a closer look.

We like the gorgeous Hayden Clutch, which is made from Italian calfskin and fastened with 24 carat gold plated lion head, inspired by Hayden’s astrological sign: Leo. We’re lusting after the bag which comes in 7 awesome colors: blue, red, black, white, brown, fuchsia and purple. Loves it.
