Feathers have come in and out of fashion for ages. They’ve been used in jewelry. They’ve accented gowns. They’ve even been used in hair pieces such as decorative combs and head bands. But Hilary Duff has taken plumage to a whole new level. She appeared at the First Annual Global Action Awards Gala wearing feathers in her hair. We’re not talking about accessories that were clipped into her hair. We are talking about actual hair extensions made out of feathers.

The feathers weren’t the only style shocker of the night. In fact, they are merely accents to the major news: Hillary has traded in her signature golden locks for a gleaming brunette mane. This is not the first time that Hillary has altered her persona with a darker hair hue, but it is certainly a major change. Shortly before presenting an award to Miley Cyrus, Hillary spoke to PEOPLE Magazine about her new hairdo. “You can brush them, curl them, straighten them,” she explained of her feathered appendages. “I’m sure that I have a pink one somewhere!”

Much like her hair accessories, Hillary’s dress was also inspired by the wild world. She wore a long black jumpsuit with a banded strapless top that featured a silver leopard print pattern. The wide, flowing legs of the jumpsuit made the garment look, in many photographs, much like a gown. The designer of the jumpsuit has been identified as Thomas Wylde.
This is not the first time that Hillary has favored leopard print in her wardrobe. She’s been photographed on the street wearing hot leopard leggings, a leopard skirt paired with a green blouse, and has also appeared in photo shoots wearing a Roberto Cavalli leopard corset. The star clearly loves this animal print and we love her in it. Go wild, Hilary!
