These days, many celebrities choose to wear sparkly outfits to red carpet events. The recent famous fashionista who showcased a shimmering ensemble is the lovely singer, Jennifer Hudson.

We know that Jennifer freshly gained public attention because of the dramatic transformation of her figure. She used to hide the flaws by wearing clothes fit for plus size women. But now that she has tremendously lost weight, she is always spotted wearing stunning outfits. After reaping wonderful benefits from the Weight Watchers program, she chose to wear an elegant ensemble at the VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul held at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

The 30-year-old singer looked stunning in a short mini-dress as she walked on the red carpet for the occasion. She showed off her trim and toned figure in a glistening attire which is composed of a shiny short and tight dress with crochet collar. She teamed the elegant number with a pair of shimmering thigh-high boots.

Basically, the outfit is mismatched and edgy. But Miss Hudson’s slender figure rescued her from the fashion slip-up. With her on trend makeup and elegant hairdo, she looked spectacular in the bejeweled frock. Looking comfortably sophisticated and glowing, the American recording artist blended with the crowd in style.

In an effort to clear her name regarding weight issues, she candidly explained her side in an interview with Ebony magazine. She stated: “I’m going to finally address that size-zero thing that Joy (Behar) said on The View. Hell, I wasn’t even on the show.  I never said I was a size zero.” She added: “I got crucified by I don’t know how many people who cussed me out because they said I’m putting out the wrong message and telling people to be a size zero.”

The recent American Music Awards has provided an avenue for famous personalities in the music industry to show off their fashion prowess. Being this year’s one of the biggest events in the music industry, the red carpet of the American Music Awards seemed to be the playground of pretty fashion enthusiasts like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Hudson. The threesome chose identical style which is sparkling metallic wardrobe at the glamorous occasion held at the Nokia Theater in New York.

We notice that Selena Gomez’s fashion preference is getting edgier. Beside her supportive beau Justin Bieber, she played with the camera looking stunning as ever. She morphed into old Hollywood style as she donned a plunging satin gown by Giorgio Armani with a daring cut of a tie detail around the dropped waist and a split up to her thigh. She rounded off the remarkable look with a pair of glittery, strappy heels. She wore her dark hair in a set of curls and opted for an immaculate makeup.

On the other hand, Taylor Swift channeled her ethereal look at the recent American Music Awards. She wore a strapless floor-length golden gown by Reem Acra, which was draped with sequins and boasted a stylish train at the back. She displayed her stunning aura while wearing the glittering gold frock and frequently smiled for the cameras. She highlighted her chic look with one-sided hairstyle and huge green earrings.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Hudson almost stole the show as she opted for a tiny shiny silver dress by Jenny Packham. The lovely singer was photographed beaming in front of the cameras as she eagerly displayed the plunging Grecian-inspired neckline of her dress. She paired the ultra fabulous outfit with iridescent black heeled shoes.

Jennifer Hudson’s singing career is phenomenal. She became popular as she landed seventh place on the third season of American Idol. With her mezzo-soprano vocal range, she became even more popular as she enjoyed a successful launching of her eponymous debut album, Jennifer Hudson, which was released in 2008 and was certified gold by the RIAA for selling a million copies worldwide.

As much as we loved the purple color of Jennifer’s dress, we loved the flattering cut even more. It seems that since she’s lost so much weight, Jennifer has really learned how to properly dress her figure. As usual, Jennifer nailed her look. We love everything about it – the spring color, the perfect fit – even Jennifer’s hair and makeup. The good news is that you don’t need an Oscar trophy on your bookshelf to look equally fabulous. All different shades of purple – from eggplant to lavender – are popping up in stores for Spring 2011. Find the one that best suits your skin tone and you’ll be as fierce as Jennifer all season!

While we love Jennifer Hudson’s red carpet dress, we also had our eyes set on her stagewear.  She looked amazing!

British star, Estelle, rocked a sparkly number which complemented Kanye’s… err… blazer.  Okay, now we have a question: could it be Estelle has serious insecurity issues about her hips?  She keeps on wearing dresses with fake hips!  Or was it Kanye’s idea?  We’ll never know.  Note to Yeezy: while we love your boldness, glittery stuff is really girls’ domain.

Fantasia looked fantastic with her embellished dress.  We’re just not really feelin’ the shoes.

We absolutely love Gwyneth Paltrow’s metallic strapless mini dress!  And for the dress’ sake, we’ll forget her ‘British’ word-drop: “…the utterly brilliant Radiohead”.  Why don’t we just leave the British thing to Madonna for now.

To tell you the truth, we’re kinda down and out with celebrities wearing those Herve Leger bandage dress.  But Tiny rocked the metallic version this time.  She grew a sense of style!  We’re not really with TI this time, ‘coz we prefer his undone tuxedo look when he performed with the “Rap Pack” onstage.

Paula Abdul tried to get on board the metallic glam trend, but she boarded the fashion trainwreck instead.  Nice try, Paula.

And so did Katy Perry, who puts rhinestones on her ‘fruity’ getup.  Thank God it’s just for show.  She actually looked much better on the red carpet.
