It’s no secret that Jessica Biel has an amazing body. She’s always been fit and fabulous, not to mention proud to flaunt her hard-earned athletic figure on the red carpet. She has the kind of feminine curves that designers love, and she’s always been a fan favorite thanks to her refusal to shrink down to an impossibly small size. We always look forward to her red carpet arrivals, and she seldom disappoints. Her stunning outfit at the Comic-Con Total Recall panel was no exception, and we’re already planning ways to recreate her separates silhouette in our own wardrobes. The gorgeous actress arrived at the event, held at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday, July 22nd wearing a high-concept couture look from Christian Cota’s Spring 2011 collection, complete with Christian Cota for Aldo cutout sandals.

Even though Jessica’s ensemble was stunning couture, we think her shorts-and-sleeveless top combination was the perfect choice for Comic-Con. After all, when you have abs like Jessica’s, it’s a crime against fashion not to flaunt them in flattering, midriff-bearing ensembles! Read on to learn how to mimic a similar outfit, in a more budget-friendly price point.

Even if you’re not comfortable bearing your belly like Jess, we think a similar ensemble might be equally flattering on a wide range of figures. For starters, the peach-and-pink color palate looks so fresh for summer, so we encourage you to look for Jessica-inspired hues on your next shopping trip.

If you’re loving her short-and-tank look, it’s easy to recreate without showing so much skin. Colored denim is everywhere this year, so look for peachy shorts that highlight your skin tone, and pair them with a flattering pale pink top in a loose-fitting fabric like lace or chiffon. You’ll be channeling your inner Ms. Biel, but in a silhouette that makes you feel beautiful. Complete your leggy look with a pair of amazing sandals in a contrasting color like gray or black to extend the life of your shorts well into the fall!

Jessica Biel Jumps on the Wide Leg Bandwagon

We’ve been hearing rumbling that wide leg jeans are going to be an important part of the Spring look. In fact, many things retro are going to be important this Spring. Think denim shirts, braided leather belts and ankle boots with chunky heels. This is a far cry from stilettos, tunics, and skinny jeans. That look, we’re pretty sure, is still going to be important for at least a few more seasons, but we’re also excited about the fresh retro silhouette. Like many looks, this one is largely defined by the key denim shape that is showing up: the wide leg.
As with many trends, the first people to try to make it work are celebs. In this case, we’ve spotted Jessica Biel making wide leg jeans look great. Just recently paparazzi snapped a photograph of the actress wearing wide leg jeans. They were dark blue in color and Jessica paired the dungarees with a simple white top and a leather jacket. She also wore a major earring that incorporated tendrils of feathers. The accessory reached well past her shoulders. We’re wondering if this might be the new interpretation of hair feathers, such as the ones recently worn by Hillary Duff. While these feathers were not actually worn as hair extensions, they did blend in beautifully with Jessica’s long, chestnut colored locks.

So far, we’ve picked up on a few hints for making the wide leg jean work:
1. Make sure to choose jeans with the perfect rise. Unlike with skinny jeans and jeggins, shirts should be tucked in to make this trend work, so if the rise is wrong, the whole outfit will be a mess.
2. Just like Jessica, wear a simple shirt and a structured jacket to complete the silhouette.
3. Be sure that your shirt is significantly different in color from your jeans. Otherwise you’ll look like you are wearing a jump suit.

Especially Jessica Biel, who’s said to design a line of handbags for Justin’s William Rast label. Really? Handbags? We don’t really know when this is going to happen, nor do we have detailed information now, but we will keep you updated. Meanwhile, mind your worries about Biel’s “future bag designs”, because we have a red hot leather goodie from William Rast that is unquestionably stylish!
