Katie Holmes steps out in a bright pink dress for a guesting on David Letterman. The sleeveless dress clings to Katie’s body beautifully, dropping down to just slightly above the knee. The sassy color works well with her skin tone, and she looks pretty even with just the slightest hint of makeup.

Katie tastefully pairs the outfit with  nude high heels. From our limited view, the dress flatters Katie’s curves, but due to the cold holiday weather, she covers up in a brown trench coat. Disappointed?

We always love Katie Holmes in jeans. You can say we believe wearing denims is her sweet spot.

…although she can look fab in leather skirts – the kind she was spotted wearing earlier this week – and in ball gowns (think First Daughter).

On Thursday, the 33-year-old actress was spotted strolling around New York City in comfy casual staple – jeans, loose-fitting shirt, and black leather flats. And yes, keeping her look as basic as possible, Katie didn’t wear any makeup. On this particular summer day in NYC, her skin was stripped down to the bare essentials.

Noteworthy: Katie is the new face of cosmetic giant, Bobbi Brown.

It wasn’t exactly a bad-hair day, but the Dawson’s Creek star kept her brunette locks in a ponytail that was more on the loose side – far from the coiffed-up look we know she can pull off easily given the mood.

When Ms. Holmes steps out in simple jeans and shirt, we go, “There’s Joey!”

Looks like the New York Fashion Week has been rather friendly to newcomers Katie Holmes and her longtime stylist, Jeanne Yang with their label “Holmes & Yang.” The duo’s presentation has been low-key, due to the fact that Holmes’ fame could serve as a double-edged sword. Her decision about keeping things on the quiet side gained her a new level of respect from fashion editors.

Holmes & Yang’s presentation consisted of 15 looks, which traditionally is too small to be called a full-fledged collection. However, the intention was indeed to feature individual looks and not a collective vision. In Holmes’ words:

“They’re luxury items, so they’re kind of what we want and what we wish for—it’s not total necessities. But for a certain woman, it is a necessity. We’re trying to create looks that fit into a woman’s closet.”

Holmes & Yang’s collection included an array of different translations of the word ‘chic’: Charming black evening jumpsuit with jet beads fringe, stylish motorcycle jackets, and tea dresses that scream “Katie Holmes would wear this!.”

So it looks like Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang started off quite well. Let’s see how the brand grows from here.

We’ve been waiting for Katie Holmes to bounce back from the Tom Cruise fiasco! Tom definitely put Katie through a lot, and now we are ready to see her back on the scene and shining again. She deserves it, and it’s tough to keep a beautiful girl like her out of the spotlight for too long!

Along with many other stars in the business, Katie Holmes was seen over at the Style Awards in New York City last Wednesday, September 5. She even presented an award! Wearing a gold skirt and a simple button-down black shirt by Carolina Herrera, Katie looked dashing and reminded us that you don’t have to be eccentric to steal the show.
