Despite that failure, it seems that Lauren is truly energized about her new project. In a recent press release, Lauren said, “Our goal with The Beauty Department is to provide girls and young women with a basic how-to of simplified versions of popular trends and styles that they can recreate themselves.” While Conrad will be featured in a number of how-to photo reels, she also has a team of experts that are helping her with advice and web content. Kristin Ess, for example, is one of the team members. Ms. Ess has been Lauren’s hair stylist for many years. Amy Nadine, Lauren’s makeup artist is also on the team.

Apparently, the idea for this website was inspired by Lauren’s own history of beauty mishaps. “Growing up, I never really learned how to do my hair and makeup correctly,” said Lauren in a recent release to the press, “and the results weren’t always great.” The Beauty Department currently has how-to guides for vintage-inspired hair styles and ombre manicures. Reports indicate that the site will also start to offer advice on skin care, skin health, and beauty-related trends.

One of the features of the site is that it offers assistance to girls and women who need some advice. Visitors to the site can email Lauren and her team with beauty-related questions and they will try to respond with suggestions.

If you’ve been watching the news over the beginning of the week, chances are you know about the monster snowstorm that crippled the Northeast. Several feet of snow fell everywhere from North Carolina all the way up to Maine, thanks to a giant Nor’easter making its way up the entire coast. Fashionable snow bunnies missed a dreamy white Christmas by one day, since the storm didn’t hit most places until Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately, most people had to return to the office the next day morning, schlepping outside to shovel off their cars in bulky parkas and clodhopper boots that would give Santa Clause shoe-envy. After all, how is a gal supposed to maintain impeccable style when her car is buried in a mountain of the fluffy stuff? Well, now we know exactly how to style our snowy weather essentials thanks to the fashionable Lauren Conrad at the December 15 red carpet premiere of “Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate” at The Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The girl formerly known as LC made cozy fashion look California cool on the red carpet, even making her knit hat look chic. Her low-key leggings-and-sweater getup was perfectly appropriate for the charity performance, which benefited the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Her Wellie-style black boots were not only the perfect complement to her entire outfit, but also a chic alternative to a bulky snow boot.

Reality star/celebrity designer, Lauren Conrad, is known for her knack in business and taste in fashion. The starlet put the two together and came up with a clothing line with Kohl’s that appeared to be a success.

But it’s true what people say: once you’ve been bitten by the TV bug, there will always be a way to return. MTV.com confirmed Conrad’s return to reality TV with a documentary reality program about launching her latest fashion line. Lauren Conrad stated:

“I am so excited to be rejoining the MTV family. The new project will follow me as I develop my new contemporary line and also touch on my other businesses.”

Lauren also told Ryan Seacrest how much she loves doing reality shows.

“I’ve always been open to doing reality again. Just under certain circumstances. As long as you have a separation, then it works. You have your personal life, and you have work life; when they’re combined, it’s difficult.”

The starlet is one busy bee indeed, as she has just released her Fall 2010 clothing line with Kohl’s and latest book, “Style by Lauren Conrad” this month.

To help with the promotion of, not only her new style book, but also the latest installment of her “LA Candy” series, “Sugar & Spice”, Conrad held a double signing at a Barnes and Noble in New York City on Tuesday.

Somehow we saw this coming and we didn’t want to say anything to jinx it, but it happened and somewhere out there we hear Heidi Montag laughing her head off. “The Hills” star, Lauren Conrad’s clothing line is going through a “hiatus” due to the current economy situation.  LC launched her clothing line in 2007 and apparently the line has been going through some real rough patches, starting with Kitson dropping the collection last year due to slow sales.  As reported bv People, LC’s reps said, “In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to rethink her line.  She’s taking a few seasons off so she can rework the line, but it will be coming back with Lauren as the designer.”  It’s also said that LC will be considering different fabric options and get out of her jersey-dominated line.

Our real question is:

Is she really gonna come back with new stuff or is this just sweet talk?  Thoughts?

So apparently LC tried to do some damage control over her clothing line’s “situation”.  Here’s what she wrote in her own blog.

Just clearing something up…

Hey everyone!
I want to take a moment to clear something up. A few days ago a statement was released to the showrooms that carry my clothing line. It asked them to let the stores know that I was planning to take a couple seasons off from my line so that I could make some changes that I felt were necessary. As a result, a lot of people were under the impression that my line was being discontinued or had been dropped. This isn’t the case at all. The truth is I was the one who asked to take a couple seasons off. I have learned so much in the past year and I want to apply that to the improvement of my clothing line. I also wanted to make some changes in production so I would be able to lower the price point.
That being said, I am actually really excited about beginning this process. I have spent the last couple weeks working on designs for spring, which is when I am planning to bring the (new and improved) line back. I also have some very exciting things going on that will be announced shortly.
So stay tuned!

Okay.  We don’t think that really helps.  It’s on hiatus, so it’s on hiatus no matter who ended it.  We don’t hate LC’s clothing line, and if she wants to “lower the price point” so her upcoming “new and improved” line won’t make us be “under the impression” of them being “discontinued or had been dropped”, then we’ll wait!
