Of all glamorous stars who attended this year’s Venice Film Festival, Madonna is the only one who gave into persistent inquiries about her beauty regimen. Her enduring beauty and youthful figure provokes much interest, especially because it was so apparent at this morning’s photo call. With hundreds of crazed fans screaming as the singer posed on the red carpet, plus her strikingly elegant butterfly dress, it is safe to say that her star still soars high.  A fashion trendsetter of the 80s, Madonna continues to be a fashion authority, especially after the launch of her own famed clothing line, Material Girl.

The 53-year-old singer fluttered around on the red carpet at the 68^th Venice Film Festival for the premiere of the film W.E. The film focuses on the romance between King Edward VIII, Duke of Windsor and American socialite Wallis Simpson and marks her second venture into directing.  The multi-talented artist looked dazzling in a floor length dove-grey gown adorned with red butterflies, made especially for the singer by Italian designer Vionnet. She made a dramatic arrival in the gown, which she teamed with sky-high ruby red stilettos and a matching dab of red lipstick. To emphasize her remarkable makeover, the American singer-songwriter and actress slipped on a pair of shiny red-rimmed sunglasses and wore her tresses in an old-Hollywood style curl, with flashy accessories like diamonds.

Despite her advancing years, the Like A Virgin singer’s complexion was glowing and remarkably wrinkle-free. It appears that the singer-turned-director is a fan of innovative beauty treatments including human placenta facials. But despite these extreme actions, she has said she doesn’t like the idea of going under the knife. She also maintains her lithe figure with a rigorous daily workout routine, which lasts up to two hours, and a strict macrobiotic diet.

In the ads for the new Material Girl line, Kelly shows off her new, thinner figure. Although Kelly was a zaftig beauty for many years, she’s dropped 50 pounds and has been very vocal about her weight loss in the media. In fact, she did a cover shoot for Shape Magazine and talked all about her issues with food and confidence. In one Material Girl ad, for example, Kelly is wearing short shorts that rise high on the waist, an embellished bra, and an open jacket.

In a recent interview, Kelly went on and on about how much she loves the Material Girl line. “There’s so much stuff in it that’s so me and what I wear,” she said to PEOPLE Magazine. “There’s a leopard dress that I get to wear next that I’m excited about. I love prints.” She also went on to talk about how much she likes the line’s accessories, particularly a pair of nude colored heels.

From photographs taken on Sunday night it appears that Madonna started out with a sort of burlesque dancer’s costume and added on from there. She wore a sleeveless black leotard with a decorative neckline, fishnet stockings, and black platform patent leather stiletto heels. On top of that she wore a very sheer black lace dress that had three quarter length sleeves and a slit on the left leg that reached her bikini line. The entire ensemble was topped with a black fur vest. Wowza!

Photographs that were taken from the back reveal the fact that Madonna’s body suit did not fully cover her cheeks. Half moons were visible as she strutted along the red carpet. Madonna took most people’s nightmare and worked it, looking confident all the way.

Lourdes, who was wearing an outfit that was positively demure in comparison, looks a bit embarrassed in snapshots from their red carpet walk. Her dress, which was certainly on the short side, was a spaghetti strap mini with a fun, brightly accented print. Even if she may not look as though she was dressed to accept a “Mother of the Year” award, we do think that the original Material Girl looked incredible. Her skin was glowing. Her hair was perfect. And her legs were to die for.

Last night was the official launch of “Material Girl”, a clothing line designed by Madonna and her daughter Lourdes a.k.a Lola at Macy’s Herald Square location in Manhattan. Also in attendance was the “face” of the line, Taylor Momsen.  All three ladies were dressed in the style of the line – a girly meets rocker-chic look, for the girl that will paint her nails pink right after punching you in the face.

Speaking of being punched in the face, Taylor Momsen’s eyeliner gave the Gossip Girl starlet the look of someone with two black eyes…or a raccoon. Pair her dramatic eye make-up with her signature “maybe I haven’t washed my hair in a few days” blonde locks, over the knee boots and strapless mini dress (both from the “Material Girl” collection), Momsen looked more fitted to be at a “Rock of Love” function then a teen girl clothing line launch.

As a stark contrast, the mother-daughter celebrity design team looked very fashionable; though some might argue Lola’s outfit wasn’t entirely appropriate for a thirteen-year old. Hey, with a momma like Madonna are we really surprised she isn’t he polo and khaki capris type of girl? At least she isn’t dressed like Taylor Momsen.

Although Taylor ended up on the final artwork for Material Girl’s campaign, she was not the first choice nor the muse of Madge and Lourdes. Word is model Agyness Deyn is the first pick by Lourdes. Sources say that Lourdes is a huge fan of Agyness and thinks that her eighties retro style hits the perfect note. Lourdes has been using Agyness’ photos as an inspiration.

Material Girl will be available exclusively at Macy’s just in time for back to school. Will you be getting Material Girl by Madonna and Lourdes?

Word is, 13 year-old Lourdes did all the designing while mama Madge provided the funding. We say it’s a huge job well done.  Loving the mini dresses, skinny jeans and the jackets. The clothing line is set to debut on August 3, 2010, just in time for back-to-school shopping. Material Girl will be sold exclusively at Macy’s and macys.com for a reasonable price range from $12 up to $40.

Yes, this is what we call a pro’s work and it should’ve been a pro because the ad was shot by Steven Meisel.  It was shot in the Figaro restaurant, on North Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles, to catch the smoky French bistro setting.

Marc Jacobs’ statement about the images: “I still feel it looks like beautiful, gorgeous Madonna.  Excepting the references and excepting the clichés, this still feels very today.  And it didn’t feel so much like a fashion shoot, it feels like portraits.”

The campaign would appear in February and March.  In tandem, Vuitton will continue to run its “Core Values” campaign, with spots featuring Sean Connery, until next year.

Well at least now we know how gorgeous it will look!

Nah… we’re not talking about this ad, silly.

After her 2005 Spring Versace ad (wow, that’s a LONG time ago), Madonna is heard to have shot a new high-fashion ad for Louis Vuitton.  Yes, we heard she kicked Eva Herzigova to the curb, and won the title of the newest LV face for the spring campaign.  The Spring Louis Vuitton ad is rumored to have already been shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Anybody knows whether this rumor is true?

Of course the proceeds went to charity (annual amFAR Cinema against AIDS benefit at Cannes), but damn…$471,000 is a lot for a handbag I wonder who was the rich fan who bought it for close to $500k?

The bag is black alligator with a diamond studded clasp and it actually contained what she uses on the daily in it lip gloss (she actually used), Shu Uemura blotting paper, a magnifying mirror and throat lozenges.
