Sometimes being fired is a good thing. Since being discharged from his position at Island Records, Jermaine Dupri apparently have kept himself creatively busy. Dupri wanted to follow girlfriend, Janet Jackson‘s venture, to the fashion world. But instead of designing sexy underwears, the music producer collaborated with renowned jewelry designer, Pascal Mouawad, and came up with a unique collection of stylish watches called Pop Watch. It’s not hard to spot Pop Watches among the crowd. They’re huge, they’re bright, and they come both in analog and digital versions. We spotted the collection at The MAGIC Trade Show. Check ‘em out.

The Pop Watch collection is inspired by the iconic pop art of yesteryear as well as the vibrancy of today’s pop music and culture. As Jermaine Dupri stated, “I grew up loving Swatch watches and admiring Andy Warhol. A lot of myinspiration came from that. I wanted to create a watch that was stylish and affordable.”

Are you feelin’ the Pop Watch collection? They’re priced between $120 and $290 and will soon be available at major department stores nationwide. We’ll let you know when they’ll be available online.

Paris Hilton at Magic Trade Show

Paris Hilton was at the MAGIC Apparel and Trade Show in February to promote her line with Dollhouse, Paris Hilton. The socialite was very involved and was at her own booth seeing buyers and people from the media herself throughout the duration of the convention. The line features a lot of t-shirts with her name and face on them, which makes sense because her celebrity is what will sell the clothes. The collection also had cute dresses, tunic tops, and skin-tight pants. Here she is in front of the her collection.

By the way, the clothes she is wearing in the picture are from the line also.

Magic Fashion Tradeshow 2008

The winter MAGIC Fashion and Apparel Trade Show took place this year February 12-15. It was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Las Vegas Hilton. This year it was cut from four days to three. Many of the already established celebrity designers showcased their lines, such as Sean John, Rocawear, House of Dereon, Baby Phat, and Applebottoms.

Up and coming celebrity designers unveiled their lines for the first time at the trade show such as Young Buck with his David Brown Clothing and Snoop Dogg’s Rich and Infamous line. There were more designers present such as Paris Hilton with her self-titled line for dollhouse, Eve making a comeback with Fetish, LL Cool J’s Todd Smith, Angela and Vanessa Simmons’ Pastry, and many others.
