Whenever we hear about Rihanna, she’s always spotted wearing her choice of risqué and revealing ensembles. From glamorous and racy stage outfits to exotic festival clothing, she continues to fascinate us with her unique, sexy style.

We also noticed her modest ensembles lately – the trendy maxi dress paired with fashionable blazer while enjoying holidays in her homeland Barbados, and her stylishly simple all-black threads she wore to a recent shopping spree in Los Angeles.

The R&B recording artist was spotted wearing a smart black suit while shopping with her little brother Rajad at The Grove, a classy outdoor shopping mall in the trendy Fairfax District. Apparently in off duty mode, the well-known performer opted for a simpler ensemble, teamed with a pair of fashionable black heels and huge dark sunglasses. The scarlet shade of her nail polish added a flash of color to her all-black outfit. With her light pink lipstick and brown curly hair tied up in a high ponytail, she looked relaxed and happy while bonding with her brother.

The 23-year-old superstar showed off her radiant smile as she was having a blissful time with her younger sibling as they checked out shoes and computer retailers together. The happy shoppers also visited Nordstrom after looking at computer games.

The brother and sister combo seemed to have made a number of purchases, with Rajad showing off a huge smile on his face while carrying a large shopping bag. Delighting in her productive shopping trip, Rihanna posted their photograph in Twitter, displaying both of them wearing Ray Ban sunglasses and celebrated, “Got my Ray-Bans on and I’m feelin hella cool tonight!! @RjFenty15 all swag’d out.”

Fresh from a recent visit to Barbados, Rihanna emerged prettier than ever while having dinner with friends at Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica last Friday night. The concert cum holiday at her homeland gave the R&B recording artist a much needed rest from her busy schedule. Rihanna showed off an innate beauty and fresh faced look while enjoying her first night out with friends since her return.

Relaxing at the famous L.A. restaurant, Rihanna wore a trendy maxi dress and fashionable blazer. Her outfit was complemented by a pair of Louboutin heels and dangling earrings that contrasted well with her tastefully simple hair and makeup. The 23-year old Grammy Award winner was the picture of elegance with her engaging smile and sun-kissed skin.

Lately, Rihanna’s eyes have been filled with a certain sparkle. Perhaps it has something to do with the talented singer’s active involvement in raising funds for the victims of the Tuscaloosa tornado. A benefit concert in Birmingham organized by the singer’s management earned a total of $89,000 for the Tuscaloosa Storm Recovery Fund. Kristine Love, Tuscaloosa’s private development liaison expressed profound gratitude to Rihanna’s contributions to the community.

Perhaps these good deeds are showing in her eyes, enhancing her already captivating charm and looks. It certainly goes well with her recent choices in clothes: modest, laid-back and classy. At times, the R&B star has drawn criticism for inappropriate or racy attire but today was different. While boarding a flight at the Los Angeles International Airport, she was wearing a striped peach and black sweater with black leggings and lace up shoes.

We love Rihanna for her fearlessness on the red carpet. She’s one star who’s not afraid to take major risks, and she often winds up ushering in totally new and creative trends. When it comes to her fashion choices, she’s worn everything from high-concept couture to eye-popping displays of skin through itty-bitty dresses, and pulled each different ensemble off with her rocker chick attitude. We were excited to see what she might choose for fashion’s biggest night – the Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 2nd – and were surprised to see her choose an uncharacteristically understated asymmetrical Stella McCartney gown.

Don’t get us wrong – we are totally digging the demure silhouette on Rihanna, and love that she went in a completely unexpected direction – it’s just that we pictured her in something super bold. Nevertheless, the California King Bed crooner looked fabulous – and the black lace confection left very little to the imagination, allowing her knockout figure to shine on such a big night. She completed her look to sophisticated and chic perfection with strappy black Christian Louboutin stilettos, and added a fun pop of color with a pair of emerald green Wilfredo Rosado chandelier earrings. But even though her pretty ensemble was surprisingly forgettable, we doubt we’ll be able to shake her fierce and fabulous fire-engine red braided hairstyle. We think her ‘do totally make her outfit, and are ready to try our hands at a DIY version.

The good news is that if you can master a simple braid, you can recreate Rihanna’s MET look at home. First, begin your style with second day hair. Shampoo that morning, and there’s a good chance your pretty plait will fall flat by lunch. Create a deep side part, and braid the front sections until you reach the nape of your neck. Once you can combine those smaller front pieces with the rest of your hair, create one unified braid over your shoulder, and secure with an invisible band. This simple Rihanna-approved braid can take you throughout the summer in major star style!

Plenty of starlets can pull off a touch of rouching at the bust or waistline, but it takes a serious fashionista like Rihanna to wear a full-length look like this one. The head-to-toe detail may have veered into “too much of a good thing” territory, if it weren’t for the gown’s impeccable fit and color. Since Rihanna already has a seriously fab figure, she doesn’t need to rely on rouching or camera angles to make her look great, but this Miele design takes her hard-earned bod to a whole new level.

Rouching is an age-old figure-fixer, so if you’re not ready to be as bold as Rihanna, you’ll be able to easily find similar (but toned-down versions) of the look at your local mall. Try to find pieces with rouching at your problem areas, like on the waistline, and you’ll be (modestly) channeling your inner Rihanna-like diva all spring.

Besides the flattering rouching detail, we’re flipping for the gorgeously ambiguous shade of Rihanna’s dress. Is it pale pink? Is it nude? Is it gray? Whatever it is – it’s beautiful, and a great shade to transition your wardrobe from chilly winter to mild spring. Look for similar shades in accessories, like a classic pump or handbag, for a work-appropriate (but still Rihanna-inspired) look.

Only a starlet as bold and stylish as Rihanna could pull off the barely there, embroidered Chanel creation. We adore this look because from head to toe, it screams spring and summer. Although most of us wouldn’t have the guts to bare all in a sheer gown, we can certainly shop for similar nude-colored pieces and pair them with bright pops of colorful florals in our shoes and accessories for a similar feel.

Throughout the pictorial, Rihanna dons everything from a sexy red cutout swimsuit by Herve Leger to a Donna Karan bodysuit in a chic navy blue – and looks equally fabulous in every ensemble. Even though her outfits are high-concept fashion, we can still garner a little inspiration from her bright shocks of color. Look for lipstick red pieces this summer, and compliment them with All American navy and white for a modern, nautical look.

Rihanna is about to join the ranks of fellow chart-topping singers such as Brittany Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Beyonce, and Christina Aguilera. This particular category has nothing to do with number of albums sold or tour dates. Rather, like these other songstresses, Rihanna now has her own perfume. The scent, Reb’l Fleur is described as being very connected to Rihanna’s roots in the Caribbean. In fact, the name of the scent itself is reported to be based on a nickname that the performer’s grandmother called her when she was a young girl. In an interview about the perfume, Rihanna intimated that her grandmother in Barbados used to call her a “rebel flower.”
Clearly, the name is important to Rihanna because she recently had it tattooed on a very visible part of her body: her neck. In fine script, the words “rebelle fleur” are now visible in a purple ink on the left side of the recording artist’s neck.

The perfume itself is said to evoke the Caribbean as it includes a bouquet of scents such as amber, vanilla, and patchouli. Reb’l Fleur is also reported as having elements of fruits and florals. Those who find that they enjoy the scent as well as those who are just die hard Rihanna fans will be able to purchase the perfume next month. According to recent reports, it will be sold in a number of department stores beginning in February. The perfume will be moderately priced. A 1.7 ounce bottle will cost $49.
According to Rihanna, she has been searching for the perfect scent for years. “Over the years,” the singer said in an interview with People Magazine, “I layered many different scents to get something that was truly my own.” Apparently she has found that scent that is “truly her own,” bottled it, and is getting ready to launch it into the market.

Rihanna has been in the news for the good, the bad, and the dreadful, but the most recent rumors swirling around the songstress have to do with a possible design deal with Top Shop. In the world of fashion and celebrity, what may be a casual outing on one end may be interpreted as the meeting of great minds on the other. Rihanna was recently seen having lunch with Sir Phillip Green. For those of you who have not yet memorized the names of top clothing line execs, Sir Phillip Green owns Top Shop. He wasn’t the only high-powered Brit at the lunch table. Rihanna was also joined by American Idol judge Simon Cowell.

So, was this lunch, which took place in Barbados where the recording artists was also photographed in her most recent beach style duds, really just a social gathering? Or was it, as many fashionistas and style news reporters are hoping, the beginning of a collaboration? Well, Women’s Wear Daily is taking the wind out of our sails. They have reported that the lunch was entirely social and is not evidence of a future design project between Rihanna and Top Shop.

We’ll keep a close eye on this story anyway, and for good reason. There may, in fact, be a glimmer of hope. Top Shop spokespeople would not comment on the story. Perhaps this means that there is a chance after all. Perhaps there is even a chance that this media hubbub will make both Top Shop and Rihanna reconsider whether or not they should partner on a line of clothing. There is always a chance that public response will yield a fashion line. After all, wasn’t it a Facebook campaign that led to Betty White hosting Saturday Night Live? In the explosive, fast-paced world of social media, you just never know where a news story might lead.
