The line initially launched in 2009, encompassing only jewelry and accessories. We loved every piece back then, and we’ve only grown more smitten with this athlete-turned-fashion mogul since.

Most recently, Ms. Williams made an appearance on HSN, fresh off her performance in the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, to debut the newest items in her collection. She was live in-studio on Sunday, July 17th – and we were lucky enough to catch the broadcast. Not surprisingly, we are completely obsessed with everything she showed – including her recent foray into clothing – but our favorite piece was her brand new Summer Romance Handbag. Just because pro tennis phenom Serena Williams recently made a comeback during this year’s Wimbledon tournament – after a one-year hiatus from the game due to injury – doesn’t mean she’s let her fierce fashion sense take a nosedive. Both she and her stylish sister Venus took a whole season off to rehab their respective injuries and focus on different exciting projects. Ever the perfectionist and workaholic, Serena used her time away from tennis to hit high-concept runway shows from Milan to New York City, absorbing the latest and greatest trends in color and fashion. But she wasn’t sitting front row just for fun – she was brainstorming creative colors for her now best-selling collaboration with nail juggernaut OPI, aptly titled, Serena Williams Glam Slam Collection. Her amazing limited edition lacquers are in serious demand, and retailers across the globe can’t keep them in stock!

With Serena’s newfound status as a leader in the fashion and beauty industry, we couldn’t wait to see what she might wear to the 2011 ESPY Awards, which were broadcast live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 13th. The athlete-turned-fashionista was a presenter, as well as a nominee for the evening, so we knew she’d wear something spectacular. Fortunately, we weren’t disappointed when Ms. Williams stepped onto the ESPY red carpet in a stunning long-sleeved minidress in this season’s hottest hue: coral! The buxom beauty highlighted her hard-earned curves in sky-high ivory platform pumps, and completed her ensemble with a trendy, multi-strand gold coin necklace.

As soon as Serena took the stage to present the Best Female Athlete award, fans across the web immediately began buzzing about her borderline-risqué cleavage. We’ll concede that the tennis star took a risk, but we love this look on her. In fact, we love her natural curls, and have never seen her look better! Serena has worked tirelessly to maintain her fierce figure, and we think she deserves to flaunt her effort. What do you think about this look? Now Serena is teaming up with the nail polish company O. P. I. to promote two nail polish sets. This is not the first time that the sports star has collaborated with members of the fashion and beauty world. She also had a special line of footwear with Puma and currently has one with Nike. The O. P. I. nail polish sets will be launched to coincide with with the French Open this May. Other celebs who have teamed up with O. P. I. to create nail polish colors are Justin Bieber and Katy Perry.

One of the polish sets is called “Spark de Triomphe.” One of the polishes in the set is a scintillating silver color. The second polish in the pair is a white polish that is specially formulated to create a crackle effect when it is painted atop the silver color. The other nail polish set for O. P. I. is called “Rally Pretty Pink.” The first polish in the set is a shimmering hue that is both bronze and slightly pink. The second polish – the one that is used to create the “shatter” effect – is a hot, diva red.

While it is always a treat to see what Serena decides to wear on the courts for her big games, at least this time we’ve got some good clues as to what she might be wearing on her fingernails

We love Serena Williams, and that’s because she’s a champion both in tennis courts and in her off-court ventures.  First it was her first clothing line called Aneres, and then the deal with Mission Skincare.  Looks like she’s busy even when it’s off-season for tennis matches.  Remember when we said Serena sits at #9 on our Top 10 Richest Celebrity Designers?  We mentioned that maybe she’ll want to create something new.  Well she did. Serena Williams unveiled her designs for the Home Shopping Network and we can see that the girl loves good bags and shiny jewelries. The line is called “Signature Statement” and here they are.

That’s one cute bag.  We do hope there will be MORE bags!

Serena said, “I always want to make a statement, both on and off the court.  One of my dreams has always been to share gorgeous gifts of fashion and luxury with the world.  Off the court, my passion is fashion.  Signature Statement is my own line of accessories and fashion, complete from jewelry to dresses.”

By collaborating with HSN, Serena joins the likes of Iman and Paula Abdul, who have also developed their own line of accessories.  And like Iman and Paula Abdul, Serena is truly involved in designing the collection.  With prices ranging from $29.95 to $100, we think she’ll hit it big in with the jewelry fans.

Last year, J.Lo managed to rake in $7 million in earnings, even though it’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from her juniors clothing collection JustSweet.Maybe we have to wait until she delivers a third baby. Hey J, how about a maternity line?

#9. Serena Williams – Aneres

Serena Williams earned a cool $14M in 2008, helped in part by her own clothing line Aneres. Established in 2004, the brand is designed by Serena herself, who has an art background. The tennis star is often seen out and about in her own collection, but we wonder why we don’t really see much Aneres these days? Maybe this article will tickle Serena’s creative bones.

#8. Sarah Jessica Parker – Bitten, Perfume Lines

Sarah Jessica Parker is sitting pretty on the $18M she made last year, even though her Bitten apparel collection bit the proverbial dust after huge retailer Steve and Barry’s was forced to fold in late 2008.

But with the recent greenlight on the Sex and The City movie sequel, perhaps SJP will have enough juice to launch a brand new clothing line… stay tuned.

#7. Sean Diddy Combs – Sean John

Well surprise surprise! We thought P. Diddy would be the richest celebrity designer alive, probably he did too.

But no, even with a cool $25 million earnings in 2008, P.Diddy got the designer pants beat off of him by 6 other competitors. We still give him props though. He’s demonstrated with his Sean John collection that he’s great at creating gentlemanly looks for G’s. He might not be as rich as some other people, but he’s definitely a KING of style in our book.

#6. Gwen Stefani – Harajuku Lovers, LAMB

The singer / celebrity designer / yummy mummy, Gwen Stefani, is sitting comfortably at number 6 with $27M in earnings. Her funky lifestyle brands, Harajuku Lovers and L.A.M.B., are both hits with CelebrityClothingLine.com readers and have contributed significantly to Ms. Stefani’s piggybank.

#5. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen – Elizabeth & James, The Row

The tinseltown twins share the #5 spot with earnings of $35M, thanks to their Dual Star empire. Although their mugs and names are all over videos, books, to self-produced home movies, you won’t see this type of blatant star marketing on their more sophisticated Elizabeth & James clothing collection or their even more upscale collection: The Row.

These two celebrity designers are the brains behind every fashion item in both lines. It’s said that their involvement is very hands-on, and “real” designers have given the pair kudos over their sophisticated tastes and creativity.

#4. Giselle Bundchen – Ipanema

Although the highest-paid supermodel in the world was said to be working on a clothing line with Dolce and Gabbana, it turns out the rumor is false. Ms. Bundchen instead went green and designed a line of sandals called Ipanema, which contributed to her bottom line of $35 million last year.

#3. Beyonce – Dereon

With 2008 earnings of $80 million, Bey is 2 mil short of keeping up with her husband Jay-Z, so we guess he gets to keep picking up the check. She’s making a strong play this year with Dereon and the luxury collection designed by her mom Tina Knowles, House of Dereon.

#2. Jay-Z – Rocawear

Jay-Z aka Shawn Corey Carter, is now the second richest hip-hop celebrity designer with earnings of $82M. He sold Rocawear for $204M in 2007, but is still involved in overseeing marketing and plays frontman for the brand.

Apparently he hasn’t gotten over his creative thing for threads because he bought high-end streetwear brand Artful Dodger right after selling Rocawear.

#1. 50 Cent – G-Unit clothing

The richest man in hip-hop and now the richest celebrity designer: 50 Cent aka Curtis James Jackson III, who’s raked in $150M in 2008. Word.

He founded The G-Unit Clothing Company in 2003 with Marc Ecko, inspired by his own style and fellow members of G-Unit.As a do-gooder, 50 makes sure he shares his wealth. G-Unit sponsors The Book Bank Foundation and donated proceeds to the G-Unity Foundation.

Surprises missing from the list: Kimora Lee Simmons for Baby Phat, Justin Timberlake for William Rast, Nelly for Apple Bottoms and last but not least, Miley Cyrus for the Hannah Montana clothing line. Perhaps these contenders will shove their way to the top 10 for 2009… stay tuned!

Serena Williams has a new mission and that is to spread the freshness of her skin to others via Mission Skincare, a personal care brand which specializes in athletes’ skin.  Serena will endorse the Pomegranate Lip Balmer, which will come out this April. Mission Skincare have also nabbed other athletes such as basketball player Steve Nash, female soccer star Mia Hamm, snowboarder Sarah Haskins and  skateboarder Ryan Sheckler.

Skincare for athletes?  Now that’s one bold move.  We love the idea.  Anyway, Serena loves the idea too.  As she said to People.com:

“I’ve always been disappointed with the lack of skincare products that can keep up with the demands athletes place on their skin.  When I learned about Mission and their focus on innovative skincare solutions for everyone with an active lifestyle, I knew I could have an impact on the company.”
