Celebrities collaborating with fashion and jewelry designers is nothing new, just as musicians collaborating with each other isn’t either. Jumping from collaborator into a new venture, hip hop producer Swizz Beatz is getting familiar with a another Swiss; the watchmakers behind Audemars Piguet. Swizz flew to Geneva to meet with Audemars himself, he says and also to take a class on the making of the watch line.  Swizz showed off one of the pieces from his collection on Sunday’s “Sucker Free Countdown”.

Producer and rapper Swizz Beats is part of the popular clothing company Kid Robot that was launched after the successful line of creative urban inspired collection of toys, mini figures, artwork, and books founded by Paul Budnitz in 2002. It is a limited edition clothing line consisting of hoodies, t-shirts, sneakers and outerwear at a premium price.

The clothing company that has been active less than a year (2006) has grown exponentially and many hip hop, actors and entertainers wear their garments on a regular.
