Victoria Beckham’s fashion portfolio is getting bigger as she adds an optical line to her Victoria Beckham label. As somebody who is near-sighted herself, she has been looking for a flattering pair to no avail, hence never allowed herself to be photographed wearing reading glasses. She told WWD why she decided to design her own glasses:

“I do need to wear glasses — [but] I haven’t found glasses that suit me or that I particularly like. I’ve always been quite self-conscious [about this], so that’s why I’ve decided to do them myself.”

Beckham already launched her line of sunglasses in 2010, and her eyewear business has been successfully received at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus in the U.S. and also Harrods in the U.K.

In designing her new collection of optical line, Beckham partnered up with Cutler & Gross. The collection will debut at Silmo Paris, on October 4th. All frames are handcrafted in Italy, made from metal and acetate with tips of each pair are adorned with a refined, diamond-faceted “V”. The six-piece collection’s styles come in three colorways each: the classic black, tortoise, elegant topaz, sunny yellow and forest green. Not keen on ‘too girly styles’? Some style are unisex, worn by Victoria and her husband David Beckham. Victoria Beckham herself is thinking of adding the specs into her everyday look.

“I will be wearing my glasses now, and it will be nice to see where I will be going for once.”

The frames will be available for purchase starting January and February next year, and each will retail for about $410. Would you be wearing them?
