Bono’s Wife, Ali Hewson, To Create New T-Shirt Line For Charity

We know Bono of U2 and his wife, Ali Hewson, are the creators of the ethical brand, EDUN. But now Ali Hewson is creating a new collection of clothing which has been made in collaboration with children from Kenya, at Liberty, a London department store. The t-shirt line is created to help raise funds to aid relief efforts in Africa. Ali Hewson tells the story of how she loves Africa and why she feels the need to help:
“I first traveled to Africa in 1985 with Bono and it was a journey that affected both of us deeply. We’ve been back many times since. We both want to show the beauty of the continent. Kibera, where the school is situated, is one of the largest slums in Africa and is home to more than 100,000 orphaned children. The people who run the school are very dedicated, and the children so enthusiastic, we felt compelled and inspired by their energy. With these Ts we are able to provide funding to for basic school supplies, hot lunches and healthcare.”
If you’re lucky enough to be in London, get the collection to help out today. But if you’re at work or at home right now, simply check Ali’s latest items from her other ethical line: EDUN.
