The Celebrity Clothing Line crew would like to congratulate pop singer, Mariah Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, for the long-awaited pregnancy. The couple who wedded in 2008 have been talking about having a family for quite sometime now, and it finally happened.
Mariah revealed the great news on NBC’s Today show as part of a sneak peek at a three-part Access Hollywood interview, Thursday Morning:
“Yes, we are pregnant. It is true. It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.”
In the interview, the singer said that she had a miscarriage right after her wedding two years ago.
“It kind of shook us both and took us into a place that was really dark and difficult. When that happened… I wasn’t able to even talk to anybody about it. That was not easy.”
We’re just so glad that Mariah and Nick are finally expecting their bundle of joy and are due in Spring. And although she’s happy now, Mariah is apparently frustrated about today’s styles of maternity wear. One of her close friends divulged:
“Mariah was frustrated with the maternity clothes on the market. She said pregnancy is an incredibly special time in a woman’s life and that she was disappointed in the lack of styles for expectant mothers. Mariah said most maternity dress designs today are either flowing tents or made of clingy, belly-hugging, spandex-type material that she said she refuses to wear when she’s pregnant. She said the outfits make her feel like an elephant in high heels.”
And this, is exactly why Mariah Carey is teaming up with fashion designer Linda Stokes, to sell her maternity apparel for the “average pregnant woman” which will be distributed through retailers such as Target and Walmart.
Can’t wait!
