Russell Simmons Brings American Classics Collection To Wal-Mart

We’ve seen and loved Russell Simmons’ Argyle Culture collection, which was launched at the end of 2007.  This year the hip hop mogul / celebrity designer / editor in chief of GlobalGrind.com, came back with a new collection titled American Classics, that will appropriately be sold at Wal-Mart in these tough times.

The American Classics collection has a similar sensibility to Argyle Culture, and in simpler words:  they’re big on preppy look.  Wal-Mart features argyle sweater vests, woven shirts, five pocket jeans, cargo pants and nautical-inspired jackets.

That will make one fly preppy brother.

The American Collection by Russell Simmons is also retailed at very reasonable prices, ranging from $9.99 to $29.99.

i have purchased 2 pieces of american classics clothing. And I lave them. Not only are they comfortable and cool, the line is extremely affordable. Now if we can convince Mr. Simmons to scale the clothes so my 4yr. old and 10mnth old can wear them and look like daddy then we would be all good. Thank u again Russell for another rendition of classic american fashion culture. __ yours truly, __ Derrick Jones

First I must say I'd like to applaud Mr. Simmons for coming out with a brand for the everyday working class American. I love this line. It is very hip and very, very affordable. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. and when I went into walmart the first thing that attracted me to the collection was the colors and the presentation. Whoever displayed the clothing made the customer want to stop. However, I very upset because I'm only finding his line in one walmart in Charlotte. And I notice it's not in the most upscale area in charlotte. I am looking for more walmarts in charlotte to carry this line. any input would be greatly appreciate. Thanks Mr. Simmons for making me feel like I'm were a thousand dollars worth of clothing, but at a fraction of the cost.

The clothing line is great! I'm a guy that wears a size 3-4x and the shirts I've seen only go up to size 2x. I hate going into a store and finding the only shirts that fit have a Hawiian print on them. The big people have style too.

I saw a shirt at Wal-Mart that was one of your American Classics. It was a pull over shirt with collar and Sleeves and a built in checkered vest, all combined in the shirt. I liked it, but Wal-mart only had one shirt. Could you tell me where I could get some shirts like that.

Dear Mr. Simmons, I was delighted to see what you have done for the average man. This has the same benefits as public school uniforms. I believe that this allows the playing field to even out amongst most children in certain situations even after school. At these prices, they all can look pretty good all the time. I am a product of the Philly public school system. I graduated in 85, we did not have uniforms than but we did have the pressures of keeping up with the Jones's. I would love to see your line as the uniforms of choice for the Pa. public school system. I would love to partake in this trial effort. I live in Lancaster Pa.I have an idea for the launch. please feel free to respond . Thanks! Marty

Russell I LOVE your clothing line. I have a chubby, taller than average 10 year old son and your men’s size medium fits him REAL NICE!! Thank you for the REAL cotton shirts and not playing us with that damn POLYester BLEND CRAP! He looks so cute and well put together because I’m so over the T-shirts!! The hats are so preppy, fantastic!!
