Telegraph UK reports that Sex and the City stylist will design for fashion range Marks & Spencer 2008 lingerie collection that will hit Marks & Spencers High Street retail front in October.

This is the first time that the retailer will work with a designer in this way celebrating there first time with profits in the billions.

Patricia Fields achieved international recognition from her work on popular shows like Sex and The City and Ugly Betty and is now amongst the world’s most influential fashion designers…even though I’ve never heard of her.

Patricia said the following statement as to why she chose to work with the High Street retailer:

“It’s just amazing to be working with such an iconic brand as M&S.

“I really wanted to get involved with a brand who really understood women of all ages and who would work closely with me to develop the range in a way that was right for them.

“I have conceptualised the line as ‘Destination Style New York’ and it consists of iconic womenswear including matching accessories. I like to see it as expression of my philosophy of ‘the democratisation of luxury’.

“The Patricia Field for M&S Collection will be a unique chance to make New York’s hottest styles part of every woman’s wardrobe. It embodies the splashy and exuberant lifestyle that I have consistently created in my work with superstars as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Lucy Liu or Meryl Streep.

“The collection has a luxury appeal with a wink to on-trend, high octane glamour and focuses primarily on dresses as well as a capsule collection of tops, trousers and accessories.”

The collection will consist of 35 pieces and will be sold in M&S’s online and UK high street stores, as well as in a number of international outlets.
