Rob Kardashian won’t knock your socks off, he wants to put them on! The male Kardashian will finally put the Kardashian stamp on menswear elements, starting with socks. WWD reports: His newest venture, Arthur George, is a collection of men’s socks that is slated to launch at Neiman Marcus on November 9th. Women’s and juniors socks will also be available online.
Rob stated:
“Socks are something I’ve always been passionate about. I have friends who own streetwear companies and they ask me to pick out anything I want and I only go for the socks.”
Although he’s putting the K stamp by involving himself in the project, Rob decided to stay low key and avoided using the Kardashian name for the brand. Instead, he uses his middle name, Arthur, and his father’s, George.
“I wanted to stay away from using my last name. The label still says it’s by Robert Kardashian, but I’m more comfortable if it doesn’t scream Kardashian at you. We don’t have to overkill everything but, at the same time, you can’t get away from it. And Arthur George sounds classy.”
The Arthur George collection will consist of 100% Egyptian cotton socks, retailing for $30 a pair. Socks won’t be the only thing Rob will be selling. He’s venturing out to a complete apparel collection and hints that it will come in a different name.
“I’m keeping that under wraps for now, but it would be under a completely different name”
But why socks?
“Ralph Lauren started with ties and I want to emulate that. But I’m starting small and I don’t want to fail. And socks is where it begins.”
