Celebrity Clothing Line

All Dolled Up

You’re nobody until you’re a doll.

It’s probably true.  Celebs nowadays aren’t putting their marks on clothing lines.  We haven’t even gotten over Angelina Jolie’s eerie doll created by a Filipino artist named Noel Cruz that’s said to be worth £2,000.  We wouldn’t buy it (it’s sold already through eBay anyway), but it looks a lot like Angie, that we’re a little bit scared and at the same time amazed.

We’ll give it up for Angie.  She is a star, anyway, and she looked eerily beautiful in a doll form.  However, there’s also a designer-turned-celeb who voluntarily agrees to let his image embodied within a doll.  Make it a bear, to be clear.  Karl Lagerfeld teamed up with Steiff, a famous German stuffed animals maker, producing the limited-edition Karl bear.  There’s only 2,500 bears up for sale at Neiman Marcus and each bear is priced at $1500. We say WHOA!

Sure it has the same glasses, suit, chained wallet, KL belt and the signature pout.  But to us, it’s nowhere near what that Filipino dude did for Angelina Jolie.  Seriously.  The weird thing is, Karl Lagerfeld does not want compete with Barbie and Ken.  In an interview with W magazine, Lagerfeld stated:

“Nothing scares me more than people with some doll collection. Frightening”.

Obviously Karl will be ok in the wilderness because bears (as long as they come with sunglasses and suits) don’t scare him at all.

LOL!
