Hilary Duff Joins Forces With DKNY

After a success with her “Stuff” clothing line a few years ago, celebrity designer Hilary Duff’s days as Lizzie Maguire is long gone as she’s planning to launch a new line with DKNY. “One of the hardest things is to come up with a name,” she said of her new line.  But finally Hilary came up with ‘Femme’.  “I think Femme works really well and explains the line perfectly as feminine but tough all at the same time.  It’s aggressive, but in a good way.”

Hilary Duff made it clear that by designing for DKNY, she’s ready to move on and do things more suitable for girls her age.  And she couldn’t be more excited talking about her involvement in creating the line,  “I’ve been learning so much about how the process happens from how much certain things cost to shipping schedules. It has been an amazing learning experience.”  Hilary’s personal fashion dilemmas are also a part of her inspirations for the line, and that resulted in smart fashion solutions.  For instance, there’s a pair of denim jeans with two different-sized belt loops (one for a small belt and one for a large), so the wearer is free to choose and alternate her belt options every single time.  There’s also sweaters with removable cowl-necks, t-shirts with removable chain necklace… et cetera.

We can’t wait to see the rest of Hilary’s “Femme” for DKNY collection, but it’s said to be dropped  Fall 2009.
