Jessica Alba's look makes us go Gaga
Monday, June 6 marked the Tenth Annual CFDA Awards – and for fashionistas, the star-studded event can be likened to our birthdays and Christmas morning, all rolled into one highly anticipated, glamorous night. Each year, we speculate which starlet will be the most fabulous, which one will wear the wackiest headpiece and which one will totally shock critics. The awards celebrate the most creative minds in fashion design, so it’s always fun to see how far their muses (read: A-list actresses and performers) are willing to push the style envelope.
This year, there were plenty of outrageous ensembles (Lady Gaga donned a turquoise wig) but one of our favorite looks of the entire night was expectant mama Jessica Alba. The gorgeous, glowing mother-to-be wore a one-of-a-kind, custom designed Diane von Furstenberg color block dress, and we are completely in love with every detail. Jessica turned heads at New York City’s iconic Lincoln Center in her floor-length, vibrant coral and purple frock. For starters, the color combination is so pitch-perfect for steamy June weather in NYC, we’re surprised we haven’t seen other starlets wearing it. Color blocking is everywhere this season, but we haven’t seen a color palate like this yet. In addition to the amazing hues, we think the shape is super flattering on Jessica’s growing baby bump. The drapes of airy fabric and sleek empire waistline make this silhouette perfect for any body type this summer – even if you don’t have a bun in the oven. Jess even accessorized her look to perfection with a pair of drool-worthy gold Fallon platform sandals and a fierce gold cuff bracelet on east wrist.
