Most of the time, the stars gather in Hollywood to celebrate the premiere of a blockbuster film, the launch of a new brand of vodka, or a birthday party for an up and coming young celebrity. At these events, our favorite fashionistas often pull out all the stops to wow us on the red carpet, so imagine how dressed up they got to celebrate beauty itself! On Thursday, May 2th, some of the biggest names in Tinsel Town descended on The Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City, CA to celebrate the opening of a new art exhibit, aptly called, “Beauty Culture.” The collection of photographs explores the way in which female beauty has been defined and honored in modern society, and from the red carpet photos, it looks like the stars really delivered with their own wardrobes for the evening.
Katie Holmes was one of our favorite picks of the night in a simple and clean olive green dress by Madewell. Her ivory colored Lanvin blazer was the perfect stylish topper, and her taupe suede Manolo Blahnik booties were an unexpected and fresh take on the nude pump trend. Katie recently announced her second pregnancy, but it doesn’t look like a burgeoning baby bump has challenged her long and lean figure yet. The loose fit and flirty scalloped edges of her olive green frock are the perfect details to detract from a tummy, so we think it might be a great pick not only for moms-to-be, but also for anyone who’s looking for a quick figure fixer.
In addition to her knockout ensemble, we couldn’t help but notice Katie’s suddenly long locks. Sure, she’s been growing out her signature bob and sided swept bangs for a few months, but we’re fairly certain her mid-back length hair came courtesy of a few inconspicuous hairpieces. Get the look at home with budget-friendly extensions from your local beauty supple in a matching hue, and hide any telling lines of demarcation with a wide-barrel curling iron.
