Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Mont Blanc Bangles
Again, we state that we always love a stylish cause. Hollywood’s big names such as Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and other huge stars out there supports Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Bangle. The ex South Africa president and Nobel Prize winner co-designed the 46664 bangle with Mont Blanc. Now, you might wonder what actually is 46664, well it’s Nelson Mandela’s prisoner number. There’s a story behind this, as told on the 46664 official website:
46664 (we say four, double six, six four) was Nelson Mandela’s prison number when he was imprisoned on Robben Island, off Cape Town in South Africa. He was jailed in 1964 for 27 years for leading the liberation movement against apartheid and for his impassioned stance on the rights of everyone to live in freedom. He was prisoner number 466, imprisoned in 1964. The Robben Island prisoners were never referred to by their names, but rather by their numbers and year of imprisonment – hence 46664 was Nelson Mandela’s number.

As for the cause, the 46664 bracelet is to create upliftment; to generate funds to fight against HIV/AIDS; and to broaden the circle of those who want to fight against the disease. 46664 became the icon for promoting Nelson Mandela’s global HIV AIDS awareness campaign.

The 46664 bracelets are made from South African Silver, Gold and Platinum. The movement’s ambassadors lineup consists of numerous big names in arts and entertainment, and we say bless them. Should you’re a bling fan whose heart is bigger than South Africa’s precious metal sources, you can purchase the bangle in your nearest Mont Blanc store, or visit the official 46664 website for more information on how to donate to the cause.
Loves it!

Mont Blanc was not involved with the design of the 46664 Bangle. The Bangle was designed by Coutts inc. in colaboration with Mr. Mandela. Mont Blanc is a highly respected distribution and retail partner
