Who can forget her longtime contract with beauty giant Revlon as a spokeswoman?  Halle Berry have been the IT girl for the beauty world for so long, now it’s time to launch her own signature scent.  Joining forces with Coty, Halle Berry delivers Halle by Halle Berry.

The beautiful mom to Nahla Ariela told the press as reported by WWD:

“Fragrance is something I’ve wanted to do for myself.  It’s a real true expression of who I am.  I was involved in all aspects of making it.  It felt like it was the right time in my life to take it on, and Coty’s been a great partner to do that with.  I hope this is the first of a number of fragrances.”

And the involvement is real.  Instead of just lending her image to Coty, Halle took two years in the process of smell tests, bottle designs up to brainstorming images that will represent the scent.  She wanted to create something that smells good to women and their partners.  “I think women’s scents are as much for men as they are for other women,” she stated, and we couldn’t agree more.

Will we smell berry notes in the perfume, due to her last name?

Nope.  Halle worked closely with the International Flavors & Fragrances and she came up not with berries, but with a woody oriental juice.  Now that, is what we say a good element of surprise and out off the cliché.  Halle by Halle Berry’s top notes consist of Sicilian bergamot, fig leaves and pear blossom.  The heart contains freesia petals, hibiscus flower and ultra mimosa, and the drydown consists of sandalwood, driftwood, cashmere musk, olibanum absolute and sensual amber.  Halle wants her scent to be sensual, natural and reflective to the outdoors.

Halle by Halle Berry will be available in March 2009. The full range consists of eau de parfum in three sizes, 0.5 oz. for $17, 1 oz. for $28 and 1.7 oz. for $35. Also a 6.7-oz. body lotion, at $12.50. Globally, a 6.7-oz. shower gel and a 2.5-oz. deodorant natural spray also will be sold.
