We are aware that the Princess Diaries star had been engaged at the start of the week. Her handsome fiancé, Adam Shulman gave her a diamond engagement ring as he got down on one knee last week proposing to the actress. They were also spotted sharing blissful moments as they took their dog for a walk around the East Village in Manhattan two days ago. But the lovely couple put on their finest last night to make their first red-carpet appearance as an engaged couple.
The 29-year-old actress and her beau attended a gala for Kennedy Center Honorees at the U.S. State Department in Washington. The American star looked stylishly striking in a floor-length black strapless gown with origami fold detail at the bust. She teamed the trendy frock with some platform satin stilettos and a long leather clutch. To highlight her glowing aura, she wore a diamond choker necklace, chic studded earrings and a tennis bracelet. But the most essential ornament of all was her diamond engagement ring. Shulman, Anne’s jewelry designer beau, worked with Kwiat Heritage Jewels to make the shimmering ring.
Anne was present in the glamorous event to support her The Devil Wears Prada co-star Meryl Streep, who was being honored at the yearly occasion. The Kennedy Center Honors is a tribute given to those in the performing arts for their lifetime contribution to American culture.
