No, we’re not merely looking at the red carpet events with rose-colored glasses. Many ladies, including IT girls of the moment Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence, chose to go to the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards in subdued and somber colors. But Lea Michele and Freida Pinto opted for happy hues in this January weather. The dresses were so bright they momentarily reminded us of summer. Remember when actresses opted for yellow at the Emmys? They stunned, and they looked great. This time, pink is the shocker, but did the wearers electrify the red carpet?
Lea Michelle shimmered in a strapless Valentino creation. The dress featured a tiny bodice and a flowing skirt, which reminds us of Jennifer Lawrence’s tomato red outfit at the 2013 Golden Globes. Lea accessorized with pink teardrop earrings. Her sun-kissed glow completed the gleeful look.
Freida Pinto stepped out in a floor-length, bubblegum pink dress from Roland Mouret. The dress featured black details at the waistline and at the back. The Slum Dog Millionaire star finished off her look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Judith Leiber clutch, and a faux bob.
We aren’t jumping in glee about these dresses, but we love Lea Michele and Freida Pinto’s confidence in strutting hues not so much appreciated in the glam books.
