We’ve adored Amy Adams ever since the bubbly redhead burst into public consciousness in the 2007 Disney smash hit, “Enchanted.” Adams has actually been acting for years – and starred in a string of B-list films before her breakthrough Disney role. But as Princess Giselle, Adams really showed fans what she was capable of on-screen. Since then, our favorite Disney princess has been borderline type cast as a cheerful and optimistic do-gooder. Who could forget her portrayal of determined Sister James in 2008’s Academy Award-nominated “Doubt,” or her role of hopeful writer Julie Powell, alongside Meryl Streep in 2009’s “Julie and Julia?” Adams chooses roles that are universal crowd-pleasers, which is why we’ve missed her so much on the red carpet recently, as she’s taken a tiny hiatus to focus on new daughter Aviana Olea.
Well, with the Oscars just around the corner, our wait is finally over because Amy has been nominated (again!) for her portrayal of Charlene Fleming in the critically acclaimed “The Fighter,” and is once again making her red carpet rounds. And at the January 22nd Producer’s Guild Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Amy gave us plenty to talk about in a plunging Andrew Gn Spring 2011 Collection party dress. We love this look, from head to toe – so let us know if you agree!

The risqué neckline of this particular frock is a dramatic change for demure and modest Amy, who normally opts for bold jewel tones and accessories over daring shapes and cuts. The black dress, practically stripped right off the Spring 2011 runway with zero alterations, was a perfect choice for the new mom to show off her hard-earned post-baby physique!
Adams keeps this look from becoming too racy with her soft, wavy locks. If she had opted for a severe updo, and major jewelry, this look wouldn’t have worked. The gown’s long sleeves also keep the dress from veering into R-rated territory. Her simple black Louboutins and Kotur evening bag complete this look to perfection.
