We’ve already spotted several of our favorite Hollywood stars wearing different versions of rust or burnt orange, in anticipation of the looming fall fashion season. So far, we’ve really loved the refreshing take on summer’s bright tangerine trend, but we were still on the fence about donning a color named after the process that oxidizes metal. Nonetheless, rust is here to stay, because we spotted Angelina Jolie wearing her own version of the shade at the recent Sarajevo Film Festival in Bosnia on Saturday, July 30th. In true Angelina fashion, she put her own stylish twist on the trend to accept her The Heart of Saravejo Award for her humanitarian work in the nation. Angelina has long been the Queen of the Caftan – and for good reason. Her tall, modelesque frame looks amazing draped in silky, billowy fabric – not to mention, a caftan is the ultimate piece in comfortable fashion for busy moms on the go. Loose, drapey dresses require little fuss, like ironing or steaming, and still look just as chic when they’re a little lived-in. Long, one-piece frocks are a great option for every mom in the summer heat, because they’re airy and super low maintenance, not to mention uber comfortable for chasing little ones.
The version we spotted on Angelina came courtesy of Elie Saab, and featured the designer’s signature femininity. A matching ribbon bow cinched Angie’s waist and helped break up her silhouette – and we think this is one of her best looks yet. We even loved her simple, understated accessories, which included an amazing pair of nude platform peep toe pumps and a few simple silver bracelets.
