Anna Wintour Wears Prada at Wimbledon
For dedicated fashionistas, it’s hard not to chuckle when American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wears Prada in public. After all, 2006’s smash hit The Devil Wears Prada was reportedly largely based on author Lauren Weisberger’s heinous experience working under the straight-faced, designer-clad boss lady. But even though we shudder at the mere thought of being reprimanded in front of a panel of world-renowned fashion insiders, we need to give Anna style credit where it’s rightfully due.
The woman knows fashion, and her savvy showed at the Wimbledon Championships in England on Wednesday, June 29. Anna took her highly coveted seat at Center Court wearing an amazing striped frock, straight off the Prada Spring 2011 runway, and even though she scares us, we love her ensemble! Keep reading to learn more about Anna’s pitch-perfect summer look, and discover how to mimic a similar style.

For starters, we adore nautical stripes this time of year, and this particular Prada frock features the summertime pattern in an unexpected color palate of red, white and black. There’s something very high fashion about red and black together, so consider mixing the two bold colors in your next ensemble.

Anna’s dress also features a fun hot pink stripe around the waistband, and a royal blue stripe around the hemline. We love the contrast of bold, primary hues against a black dress, but you don’t need to break the bank to achieve a similar effect.
For Vogue-approved style this summer, try mixing up different vibrant colors with your go-to striped dresses. You certainly don’t need a Prada label in your frock to find a great-fitting, nautical-style sundress, so search the racks at your local Macy’s or Target. Throw on your favorite bright accessories, like a pink belt or blue sandal to complete your style to perfection, just like Anna!
