As bona fide children of the 1990s, we don’t care how many times Britney Spears makes a major career misstep. We will always consider “Baby, One More Time” the soundtrack of our youth, and Brit’s catchy singles will forever transport us back to our tenth grade homecoming dance. She can shave her head, enter rehab, even flash her underwear to the paparazzi and we will still come back to buy her next album on iTunes. What can we say? We are major fans.
But as much as we adore Brit for her endlessly danceable hits and her uncanny ability to make us nostalgic, we don’t usually care for her fashion choices. But that might be changing soon, because we just caught a few sneak peek images of Brit’s new promotional shots for her latest album, Femme Fatale, and they’re surprisingly glamorous. Dressed in Dolce & Gabbana, with not a hair out of place, Britney looks downright gorgeous – and even though it may all be hair extensions and Photoshop, we’re still obsessed with the clothes. Read on for a few photos, and tell us what you think of Britney’s stylish transformation!
In the first photo we saw, Brit’s rocking a sexy D&G polka dot top, black peep toe heels – and little else. But we’re OK with that, since we’ve been so smitten with polka dots this season. The cutesy pattern is huge for Spring 2011, and you can practically find any shape, size or color clothing item or accessory that’s bespeckled to your liking. We love Brit’s classic white dots-on-black satin print, and think a similar one would work for any occasion. Just don’t forget to throw on some pants.
The second photo is our hands-down favorite, because it features Britney in all of her blonde glory. Sitting atop what appears to be a vintage set of bureau drawers, she wears a drop-dead gorgeous gold gown from Dolce & Gabbana and a pair of seriously fierce gold heels. Pale metallics like this soft gold are another huge Spring 2011 trend, and they are surprisingly easy to wear. Your version doesn’t necessarily need to feature a thigh-high slit or bustier, though!
