In our opinion, Catherine Zeta Jones is the epitome of glamor and elegance. She oozes classic Hollywood style and feminine allure in every ensemble she wears, and seldom makes a red carpet misstep. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the star made an appearance at Buckingham Palace on February 24th for the Royal Investiture in head-to-toe Michael Kors. Always the perfect lady, Catherine even opted for a hat in a matching sandstone hue. We adored her outfit, and can see a similar silhouette working for just about everyone. Take a look at the photos below, and with spring just around the corner, discover Catherine’s star style secrets for your next event!

Catherine was in London to receive CBE honors from Prince Charles, acknowledging her services to both the international film industries and to her favorite charities. Obviously, such a regal event calls for an equally sophisticated fashion look. And fresh off her front-row appearance at Michael Kors’ 30th anniversary show at New York Fashion Week, we weren’t surprised Catherine chose the designer for such a big occasion.
The Welsh actress and Oscar winner chose a fitted taupe shift dress with a matching blazer and hat. We don’t often love when stars don statement hats, but Catherine pulls it off beautifully. The monotone look was perfectly appropriate for the Palace, and we think she looks fabulous.
Besides her giant diamond engagement ring (a gift from longtime hubby and recent cancer survivor Michael Douglass) and a simple pair of drop earrings, the only color in Catherine’s ensemble was a pair of gold pumps. We love the splash of metallic in an otherwise one-color look.
With spring right around the corner, keep this look in mind for fashion inspiration for holiday brunches. Take a cue from Catherine’s look and add a pop of shimmering metallic, and you’ll embody star style all spring!
