We know the fashion world moves at lightening speed, but even we were surprised to see our favorite Hollywood starlets already busting out their picks from the Spring/Summer 2011 runways! Nevertheless, we’re not ones to turn our noses up at great star fashion, just because we happen to be in the wrong season! Besides, after Zac Posen decided to move his spring and summer shows from New York to Paris, it’s about time we ladies on the other side of the pond got to see his gorgeous creations. And thanks to Christina Ricci at the December 13 New York Stage and Film Winter Gala, we got a sneak peek of Posen’s to-die-for warmer weather looks.
Ms. Ricci hasn’t always made the best-dressed list in our minds. In fact, she’s had several fashion misses in the past few years that we’d really rather forget. But who could forget her woefully bra-less, unfortunately feathered skirt look from last June’s Marina Abramovic event at New York City’s MOMA? The ill-fitting top and wacky bottom couldn’t even be saved by the fabulous black platforms she wore. Her ever-changing hair colors and styles can also be hit-or-miss. But Ricci definitely earned back several fashion points this week with her Posen look. It was so chic that we can forgive her for wearing a summer collection dress in December. In New York City. Clearly, the nude-and-black color combo is going to be huge this spring – and Christina’s pale complexion looks absolutely flawless in the contrasting hues. The sheer black halter is dead on-trend this year, and is appropriately sexy without going over the top. The starlet even accessorized her frock perfectly with simple and sophisticated black platform pumps and a black evening clutch. She gets an extra gold star for her sleek, natural-looking locks. This is one Ricci look we’d actually like to remember – so we can steal the style ourselves! Let’s just hope Christina keeps it up.
