Emma Stone at The Help at the MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week

Remember watching Easy A last summer and falling utterly love with relative Hollywood newcomer Emma Stone, as she portrayed sarcastic, deadpan Olive in the teen flick? We sure do – which is why we barely recognized the young starlet when she decided to go platinum for a few upcoming films. For months now, we’ve had to do a double take when she arrives on the red carpet, because she’s been nearly unidentifiable in a sea of other blonde actresses. Sure, she looked fabulous blonde, but we admit we missed her fiery red locks, which is why we’re thrilled that she debuted yet another hair makeover at a screening for The Help at the MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week in Los Angeles recently. To match her new – or is it her old? – hair hue, Emma paired her strawberry locks with a rocker chick-inspired ensemble, complete with a bright red manicure. We are pretty smitten with her whole look, but going red at home isn’t easy. Read on to learn how to achieve a similar style with minimal damage.

For starters, Emma’s black and gray color palate is right on trend with this season’s neutrals. She paired light gray, cigarette-style jeans with a charcoal-colored top and a slim-fitting, black leather motorcycle jacket. We think this look was a perfect choice for an informal movie screening, but could also work in your everyday casual wardrobe – even if you’re not an up and coming Hollywood A-lister. If you’re loving the look as much as we are, shop for a similar leather jacket at a budget-friendly price everywhere from Filene’s to Macy’s, and wear it instead of your tired denim jacket with all your spring and summer dresses and skirts.

As much as we’re loving Emma’s wardrobe, we’re even crazier about her beauty routine. If you’re interested in achieving a similar red hair color at home, be careful – especially if you’re transitioning from a platinum blonde, like Emma’s former color. Since red can be tricky, it’s best left to the professionals at your favorite salon, but bring plenty of photos and celeb inspiration. Emma’s cherry red manicure is much more doable for at-home beauty junkies, but don’t forget to protect those tips with a nice thick topcoat.
