Eva Longoria at the 2011 annual Starlight Gala
Just because Desperate Housewives may be entering its last season (tear!) doesn’t mean Eva Longoria is planning to slow down anytime soon. In fact, we spotted her at the annual Starlight Gala, this year held at Hotel Villa Padierna in Marbella Spain on Saturday, August 6th, looking better and more fabulous than ever. The petite starlet opted for an amazing baby pink chiffon confection by J. Mendel and completed her erethral frock with amazing, sky-high nude patent leather peep toe pumps, courtesy of Brian Atwood. Pale pink has a tendency to go horribly awry on the red carpet – and can potentially look cloyingly cutesy and immature – but Eva’s version looks downright sophisticated. A color this light and airy is particularly risky on a tiny frame like Eva’s, since there’s a fine line between teenybopper and trendsetter. Normally we’d encourage gals with similarly small builds to opts for deep, rich, saturated colors like wine, navy, emerald and black to avoid being carded by the bartender – but Eva totally pulled off her fresh take on pale pink. She kept her ensemble grown-up by pairing it with amazing nude heels and a trendy metallic clutch. If she had opted for matching accessories, she might have ended up looking like she was headed to her BFF’s sweet sixteen party instead of a charity gala.
Eva’s hair and makeup also oozed modern sophistication, and we think her beauty look actually made her entire ensemble. Instead of wearing her signature loose, sexy waves, she chose to wear her thick, glossy locks in a clean and simple chignon. She was smart to add plenty of volume at her crown to balance her voluminous skirt, and finish her look off with naturally pretty makeup.
