“Big Love” fans may have been wondering about the differences in Ginnifer Goodwin’s appearance on screen versus her appearance at publicity events and her look in candid paparazzi shots. While her hair has ranged from shoulder length to nearly waist length on screen, in person Ginnifer’s hair has been short and cut with edgy, wild styles. In some cases she’s even had some sections of her head shaved nearly to the scalp. Well, we’ve got the dish on what’s been going on with Ginnifer’s lustrous brunette locks.
For a while now, Ginnifer has needed permission from her employers to cut her hair. In order to go for one of her runway chic, irreverent styles, she’d need her bosses to sign off on the cut. That has all changed now that Ginnifer has made an alteration to her contracts. After working out the legalese with her lawyers, the actress now has a clause in all of her contracts that states that she can cut her hair as she sees fit whenever she wants to. The clause indicates that whoever she is working for will have to provide a wig to suit the roles that she plays.
How did Ginnifer feel about her hair before the clause? According to a recent interview with In Style, not very good. “I find it hard to express myself when I’m growing out a very bad character haircut,” she said in the interview. And before the clause, her employers did control what she did to her hair when she was away from the set. “They owned every hair on my head!” Ginnifer explained. Now that she’s protected by her contract, the actress feels that she can be herself in real life instead of constantly wearing the mane of one of her characters.
