Now that the dust has finally settled on the Academy Awards, and all of its subsequent glittery after-parties, the stars have finally begun moving on to other, non-Oscar related formal affairs. And even though we’re loving the refreshing change, there is one Oscar gown that we can’t seem to shake. It’s Heidi Klum’s fierce and fabulous mirrored Julien Macdonald creation, and we are so smitten that we’ll probably be talking about the sparkly design until next awards show season. We didn’t see Heidi grace the Oscar red carpet – nor did the camera catch her in the audience at famed Kodak Theater. In fact, we’re not even sure if Heidi made it to the show, but all was forgiven when she arrived at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar party in this jaw-droppingly blingy frock.

Heidi’s mirrored gown certainly is not for the fashion faint of heart, but that doesn’t mean we can’t steal a tiny bit of fashion inspiration from the Queen of the Supermodels. The dress is technically straight out of the designer’s Fall 2009 Collection, but appeared positively futuristic with its ombre silver color and reflective belt. Standing at nearly five feet, ten inches, Heidi can pull off looks that we mere non-model mortals could never wear. The star’s sequined Christian Louboutin “Daffodile Strass” pumps added several inches to her already statuesque frame, making an even bolder fashion statement.
We adore Heidi’s style, and especially love that she’s never afraid to wear daring – and sometimes even bizarre – designs. This mother of four isn’t afraid to show a little leg, and her Oscar night gown proves how confident she is in her own skin. Even if mirrored evening gowns aren’t your thing, you can still steal some of Heidi’s unbridled confidence. And besides her Lorraine Schwarts diamonds and Judith Leiber clutch bag, we think that was the best accessory of the night.
