In the flurry of star-studded, glamorous summer movie premieres here in the US, we almost forgot that plenty of fashionistas are currently abroad celebrating international accolades and awards. On Saturday, June 25th, two-time Oscar winner (and perpetual best-dresser) Hilary Swank was in Toronto, Canada to attend the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards, and present the statue to Best Leading Male, Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan. Hilary looked as elegant as ever, and arrived in an embroidered, Elie Saab Couture creation, straight off the designer’s Spring 2011 runway. Her sparkling crimson boat neckline, open-back gown featured an amazing train and left us with a serious case of dress jealousy. Hilary even accessorized perfectly, right down to her hair and makeup, so read below and discover how to recreate an equally polished and pretty look at home!
For starters, we think the dark red color is absolute perfection on Hilary. In a sea of black gowns at this particular show, her sexy crimson confection really stood out, especially against the event’s green carpet. If you have a fancy summer soirée in your future (like a summer wedding or gala,) consider wearing red instead of your go-to little black dress. You’ll feel just as formal, but will look like a savvy style maven. A color similar to Hilary’s Elie Saab dress will be universally flattering on cool and warm skin tones, so use her ensemble as sexy style inspiration!
Hilary has a great body, and her gown’s flattering silhouette allowed her hard-earned figure to shine. If you’re interested in wearing an equally fitted frock, look for invisible shapewear to create a seamless silhouette underneath your star-worthy gown.
We loved Hil’s Judith Leiber evening bag and stunning diamond drop earrings, but our favorite accessory was her sultry bronze makeup look! To recreate her face at home, stick to gold-laced bronze hues for eyes, cheeks and lips. Steer clear of anything that leans too pink or too red if you want to capture a similar color palate, and wear your sunkissed look with confidence, just like Hilary.
