If we were forced to identify the most polarizing item in the world of fashion, it would have to be the one-piece jumpsuit. For some reason, fashionistas either love or loathe this particular item of clothing, and the trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. In fact, we predict that the jumpsuit will get a major fall makeover, and serial jumpsuit wearers will most likely stock up on the latest generations of the easy style. We admit, we initially thought the fad was bizarre and ill fitting, but Hollywood A-listers like Kourtney Kardashian and Kate Bosworth have slowly but surely changed our minds about the 1970s-inspired piece.
Most recently, we spotted the amazingly gorgeous Olivia Wilde wearing a high-style version by Emporio Armani at the Nylon Magazine August issue launch party in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 27th. Olivia paired her sexy one-piece with bold mesh booties, which we think will also be a huge fall trend. A similar shoe is the perfect transition piece from summer to fall, so look for your favorite version in every price point before the weather cools. She also added a pop of fun color with an amazing turquoise bracelet, which kept her all-black look flirty instead of moody.
The reason why we love Olivia’s jumpsuit more than others we’ve seen, is because it actually creates the illusion of being two separate pieces. The bodice features sparkly sequins, while the bottom appears to be a separate pair of trousers. Ms. Wilde completed her look with a freshly shorn set of blunt bangs, which made her ensemble perfectly rocker-chic for the evening.
