J.K Rowling's at the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
When you’re on the Forbes list alongside Oprah and Donald Trump, and you’ve been firmly at the helm of the largest, most successful children’s book and movie series ever created, what are you supposed to wear to the glamorous London premiere of the last-ever film in your blockbuster franchise? We imagine author J.K. Rowling battled this question for weeks leading up to the U.K. red carpet premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, held in London’s Trafalgar Square on July 7th.
We’re sure it was a tough decision for the multibillionaire writer, but we think she looked amazing in her Oscar de la Renta ballgown, from the designer’s Spring 2011 collection. The sage green and baby pink floral confection was the perfect choice for such a huge night in her career, and we think she even styled it to perfection. Hint: it’s a lot better than the complete Harry Potter Series Blu-Ray box set!
Rowling’s Oscar de la Renta gown has been one of our favorites all season. We can’t get enough of those adorable three-dimensional rosettes, and we are completely in love with the preppy pink-and-green color palate. We can’t imagine a better shape for her body, either – and think the sweetheart neckline and cinched waist highlighted all of her best features.
J.K. played up the pretty pink colors in her gown by adding a pink clutch, and matching earrings and pink diamond cocktail ring by Bulgari. A pale pink polish on her tips and toes added the perfect amount of sparkle to her ensemble, and we think a similarly pale pink would be equally flattering on a wide range of skin tones this summer. Her low, chic updo and smoky eye makeup were the only other accessories J.K. needed.
As much as we adore her whole premiere look, from head to toe, we admit we are even more smitten with the 40-carat diamond bracelet Warner Brothers allegedly gave J.K. as a token of their thanks. We can’t think of any writer who deserves it more, and are waiting in anticipation for the day J.K. premieres her new bauble on the red carpet. Do we smell an HP prequel?
