Jamie King Wears Versace to Honor Rachel Zoe at InStyle Dinner with a Designer
On Tuesday, June 21st, throngs of our favorite fashionistas descended on West Hollywood’s SoHo House to honor stylist-turned reality star-turned designer Rachel Zoe and celebrate the launch of her most recent collection. Sponsored and hosted by InStyle Magazine, the Dinner with a Designer event is always a hot ticket, and the Los Angeles crowd always dresses to impress. Not surprisingly, most of our favorite style stars opted for looks straight off Rachel Zoe’s own runway, which were both event appropriate and dead on-trend for the upcoming fall season.
Blonde beauty Jaime King was the only starlet in attendance who didn’t have the guest of honor’s name embroidered on her frock’s label. In spite of the slight snub, we’re willing to give Ms. King a free pass since she chose a fantastic black crepe Versace Fall 2011 dress, and even coordinated her colorful eye makeup with the emerald green python panel details. We predict that black and green will be one of fall’s hottest color combinations, so we can’t blame Jamie for donning this particular frock to an event honoring Rachel. In fact, we think the woman of the hour herself would be impressed with Jamie’s pick. Keep reading to discover why “we die!” over Jamie’s hot Versace frock.

We love that Jamie chose a slim, pencil-style dress to highlight her knockout figure, and think the simple cut allows those fabulous python panels to make a great style statement. The blonde star of the small screen even accessorized to perfection, opting for only a few pretty bracelets from M.C.L. by Matthew Campbell Laurenza and a ring by Hellmuth. The only other finishing touch she needed was a coordinating emerald green eye makeup shade, which we’re forecasting will be a huge fall trend.

If you find vibrant shadows and liners intimidating, take a cue from Jamie and play up just one color from your wardrobe to make a chic statement. Choosing a single hue, like green, blue or violet, allows you to play with color without looking like you fell face first into an artist’s palate. Give emerald green a try this season for a star-inspired look!
